Can anyone tell me if zinc cream is a good sun block for the face?
I already use a boots face suncream spf 30 but would like a total sunblock. I know zinc ceam doesn't smell the best and is heavy but would be happy to trade that for total protection. It is also readily available too.

I think you are referring to zinc oxide as I cant think of any other zinc used as sun block. As far as I know, I could be wrong, zinc oxide can only offer SPF 15 protection factor an it does not smell at all, is the same stuff used in mineral cosmetic powder foundation as is just mixed with iron oxides for colour that that is pretty much it. I was looking for ages a 100% natural and organic sun screen cream and all I can find is ones with titanium dioxide or zinc oxide in them and they never go over 15 SPF.

I saw a dermatogist last week and went for one thing but she picked up others that I should be aware of. I knew I need to use a sunblock (and was using a suncream), but should of asked her which one:o she would recommend. I'm back to see her in a few months so will have to have a list of questions ready. I didn't know what to expect on my first visit.
