helloooo!
my hair is falling out! no joke, i know its normal to loose so many hairs a day (thats what the hair dresser told me!) BUT i have noticed just recently i am losing more hair than i used to.
ive got really thick hair so its not too worrying but if its carry's on like this i fear i may end up bald or something!
my scalp seems pretty healthy, although some of the hairs have little dry bits on the end at the root....

could it be hair loss due to the changing seasons?
can anyone say why they think it could be falling out?!

cheers

Emma,

Because of seasonal change my hair fall increases and after it gets ok. Dont worry its due to climatic change.;)

RE: hair loss - more than the norm!!!

I posted about a year or so ago about my hair falling out. It really worried me too, cause tonnes of it was coming out. When I was at the hairdressers the girl washing my hair said to the hairdresser that loads was in the plug hole, but my hairdresser said it was quite normal and could be seasonal. I also asked the GP who just said you look fine, don't worry about it! but didn't consider how I might feel in a years time if my hair continued to fall out at the same rate.

Anyway I still have loads of hair (too much) so I guess it is nothing to worry about after all. Emma I'm sure it is nothing to worry about, especially if you have long hair, it just looks a lot.

Maybe some IHM or brushing upside down will help stimulate the scalp.

RE: hair loss - more than the norm!!!

I just thought Id ata little about my recent hair loss experiences! I dont want to worry you, but make sure that your diet is healthy. My hair has been falling out for months now, and is really really thin on top! If you notice your hair is continuing to drop out at an alarming rate or you notice it isnt quite as thick as it once was do get it checked out!! Ive recently been tested for Thyroid problems, Diabetes, and Anaemia, all of which can make your hair fall out (not in clumps but just a general shedding!). If youre in any way concerned get it checked.

RE: hair loss - more than the norm!!!

Anything happend about 3-4 months before the hair loss? Apperently if one has a big shock (or big illness)the part of the scalp where hair starts to grow getsaffected andit shows up with hair lossa few months later.

RE: hair loss - more than the norm!!!

hi, i too have been suffering hair loss recently and had been very worried. like u my hair's quite thick but i noticed that each time i brushed my hair or washed it i lost more then i would normally. i went to see my gp and he suggested i have a full blood count test done. whilst i was awaiting my blood test results i came across a site when i typed in 'hair loss' and 'ferritine'. i was amazed at what i read.there's a whole load of people (mainly women) out there who r suffering similar and with similar symptoms.i was called in by my gp to discuss the blood test results..he confirmed my doubts that i had ferritine deficiency. he has since prescribed me ferous sulphate. i am taking them 3x daily. my hair seems to falling less now but i'm still afraid to wash them regulary and even brushing them onlyonce a day!! i suggest u have ur blood tested. do not leave it thinking it is normal. if u noticed that ur hair loss is greater then normal then please get a blood test done or atleast talk to ur gp. for a good growth ur iron level should be 70+. mine was 14...what my gp told me was when u have iron deficiency then the first thing that happens noticeably is hair loss!!!
hope all goes well and u sort out ur hair loss prob soon.

kind regards

shree

RE: hair loss - more than the norm!!!

People have suggested iron, and that is very good advice. However a lesser known supplement for stopping hairloss in women is the amino-acid L-lysine. Take it away from food (otherwise it combines with amino acids in your meal and contributes towards building proteins) - perhaps starting with 3 a day for a week, and going to 1 a day until you finish the bottle. If you see no difference during that time then it is fair to say that it isn't contributing to your hairloss.

Good luck

RE: hair loss - more than the norm!!!

My friend was just telling me the other day that her friend is suffering the same problem and clumps were coming out in her hands when she washed it. She went to see someone about it (not sure who but not a doctor) and they said it was a protein deficiency. They also said if u think ur hairs falling out it will fall out so try not to stress about it. Hope this helps and good luck 🙂
