Hi
Not sure whether this fits in the "other internal organ" section, the neurological section, anxiety section or the just plain f****d up section!

I am now 44 years old and have been suffering for many years with a "situation" which I am now realising has been ruining my life and should have done something about before now.
It has prevented me from enjoying holidays and stopped me from going on day trips.
My symptoms are confusing to me but I hope someone on here can help, here goes ..........
If I know that there is a loo nearby i.e. I am at home, at work, or somewhere familiar - I don't feel the need to urinate for @ eight hours at least.
When I am somewhere strange or a long journey, I suddenly feel the need to urinate within an hour or two, I also experience a "tingling" in the nerve endings at the back of my upper leg and buttock region at this time.
I realise this is a psychological/anxiety problem and so it doesn't fit into the physical catagory.
My reasons for wanting help now, is that I have the chance to go to Africa with a work colleague, which is a chance in a lifetime trip - but I know that this condition of mine will make it impossible for me,
Can someone please help? I am desperate :dft004:

Hi Cazzie

I'm familiar with the feeling of thinking I need the loo when it's hard to find one ( camping, festivals etc ) however it sounds like for you it is very acute.

Have you considered looking into Emotional Freedom Technique ? I'm no expert in the subject but have read Emotional Healing in Minutes by Valerie and Paul Lynch - the technique is really simple and with such a specific issue as yours I think it would be well worth trying.

You can learn it yourself or go to an EFT Practitioner depending on how you like to do things.

I am planning to use it to stop smoking - however as I am sure it will work I am reluctant to start !!!!!!!

Good luck

Lou xxx

I would suggest seeing a Kinesiologist - there are some very effective lymphatic points to help bladder control and they can also help you with the emotional attachment. The bach flower Cherry Plum may help you - this is for "fear of losing control." Good luck

Have you checked out that you don't have diabetes, since this is one of the symptoms? It can also be a bladder infection easily cleared up by visiting your GP.

Thanks for the replies, and in response to Amy in particular, it is now twelve hours since I visited the loo - so I know it is purely in my mind!
'tis weird, as I am a really laid back person with no hang ups or worries of any sort.
But after over twenty years of this and I'm fed up with it :dft006:
