herbs etc..

hello rachel, i hope it works for you too, to do this naturally an dget the positive results would be wonderful, i saw dr mouton as my problems started some 15 years ago i was and still am literally a dead person walking, no matter what i did didnt help, i was too far gone, without going into detail i had so much unrentling big time stress for 30 years that took a massive toll on all my body systems, eventually it gave up,no matter what i took ,--simply becos it had gone on for so long and i wasnt aware in those days like i am now, just call me Leiutenant Columbo, i get all my test results, look them up and the symptoms that i was admitted to hosp with 4 years ago were horrendous, it all pointed to adrenal crash, but no-one did a cortisol test, my blood pressure was only 97systolic, i was vomiting badly at night in hosp, nauseaous couldnt eat lost a stone, weak dizzy lightheaded, fainted, couldnt stand noise , bright lights, couldnt sleep my nerves and muscles were twitching and tingling in all my body and limbs, horrendous adrenaline rushes would ppound my body stopping me from sleeping al night, hadnt slept for years, iwas fobbed off other explanations, but when i read the hosp report i had forgoten how much i had vomited, and these are all symptons of low cortisol and adrenal sun functioning, i have done saliva cortisol and dhea tests for years all coming back hypo-adrenal--no-one listened, i didnt evenknow much back then , but adrenals cannot be messed with, and the same thing happened the following year, and again the worst of all was july 2010 an d is still going on now , a whole year later i cannot believe the amount of suffering i have been thru , i was so ill i thought i was on the way out to th ehappy hunting ground to meet my maker--- which i why i went to dr mouton and low and behold my suspicions were confirmed, its going to take a long while , thyroid very low conversion of t4 to t3, but then you cant convert with low adrenals anyway,- all hormones low, i have got gut dysbiosis too and he explained that no matter what you eat , take , ingest nothing will absorb if you have gut probs, i have got pcos, which involves sugar, insulin , i have stage 3 kidney there is so much to sort out, but i have to be positive even tho i feel so crap every day... i wish you success in your journey to wellness .take care . x

Hello curtains,
Thankyou for sharing your story. Its sounds like youve had such a tough time for so long. I hope you will soon find the right help and support and be free of all the problems you have been having.

Yes if the adrenals are not working properly then they are going to knock every thing else out of balance to. My herbalist has already told me that the adrenals needs to be sorted out first and then hopefully everything else with improve.

Sending you lots of love and light,
Rachelx
P.s have you tried any form of self healing? crystal healing, reiki, eft ?
I have just done a theta healing course and def think that has helped with my healing journey.

Hi Hallos

I have had this done by my GP. Unfortunately I had taken a dose of T3 beforehand and they were alarmed because it was a little high. I learned since that Dr Mouton insists that you do not take any T3 the morning of a blood test. I think it depends on your GP. The endocrinologist I saw wouldn't even test for it.

Hi Curtains

Your story is one which unfortunately is not untypical. Dr Barry Durrant-Peatfield has tried very hard to make a stand for people with thyroid problems, only to be villified by medical establishment who follow the narrow lines of artificially produced hormones - and adrenals do not figure until they cease to function . As for understanding that adrenals must be treated (where necessary) before the thyroid can be balanced - that doesn't happen either.

The more of us who band together the more likely we can get changes. Not an easy or simple task. Trouble is most of us fight to cope with life as it is and taking the fight further seems beyond possible.

Hello Caroline,
Thankyou for your reply. Im not taking any form of t3...just herbs and vitamin and minerals.

I need to go and have a chat with the doctor, as he simply just wrote out a repeat blood tests form and therefore i will need to explain why im wanting the t3 tested.

thanks again
Rachelx

band together yes i agree caroline

hi caroline, yes i couldnt agree more with you about banding together on this... i find it so appalling that the suffering goes on, and even tho i was at deaths door for months , what was happening to me was so wierd that i thought i was going slowly mad and i was sooooo scared, i had no option than to sit at the computer searching out if anyone else had my symptoms, they are a heck of a lot less now but --none the less, not gone. i was wondering if anyone reading this had the same, -adrenaline rushes thru the body pounding my brain, it was tho my brain couldnt contain the amount of adrenaline and felt my head would burst it was painful it still is,, i would haveto move about like convulsions in bed--- all muscles and nerves were twitching /tingling etc, my son felt the tremors when he put his arms round me, saying it was like i had shell shock--i was just sent to a psychiatrist... for heavens sake i know what i was suffering an dthis is why i have to do a 'mary shoman'---- i cannot let this go, i have seen my MP he has written to the secretary of state andrew landsley i am still waiting to hear but i will not let this go, i know what hell it was for me for a year in 2007 an dagain in 2008 and the worst an dthe longest ever was this time last year july 2010 until now, july 2011 i cant wait to get back to dr mouton becos i am still suffering these weird sensations at night when i am asleep it wakes me, i found a forum of these things i googled 'internal trembling and shaking' a host of girls came up with same symptons telling their stories, all having done the round of numerous doctors/endo/gp/s psyhchiatrists etc.. one wrote- i have found an alternative doctor and i LOVE him he spent 4 hours with me and found stuff that no-one else has!!! oh joy ..this was america they have the same probs as we do. i cannot for the life of me work this out--if we were born with hormones in order to function... how are we supposed to still function when they go wrong!-- this is all hormones not just thyroid, this is why i am on a mission, i have been told i am a mental case becos i 'search out symptoms and then SAY i have them' --like a mail order book!!!! --buy one -get one free---as if !!!...can you believe that? as if i havent got anything better to do with my life ( which was full at one time) and i posed this question--- some of us do happen to know how the body works especially if our chose profession required us to know!!! i have urine tests as far back as 2004 from europe showing 'watch for addisons'--- no-one wanted to know so its no wonder i am like i am now and STILL they are not listening, dr mouton had certainly sorted my gut out, but i still have my hormones to sort out, i have discovered that low progesterone causes many things hair loss ( mine is very very thin now)- sleepness ( as well as low cortisol causes sleeplessness)- lack of melotonin- flippingheck i havent enough years left to get well at this rate.. yes rachel i do reiki on my self and have one of my students doing distance healing, another does chaka balancing but as said before i am too far gone and need the hormones i dont care in what form just gimme the flipping hormones!!! caroline--re ,-your banding together-- any ideas you have-- count me in please.. i want to show them that we mean business!!! some folks just dont know what we do and they suffer in silence and i cannt bear to know that,- simply becos i have suffered so much myself and i know mine isnt over yet and i can take pain and crap but this has been nothing short of HELL day in and day out for over a year now. so lets get together and fight our corner. wishing you all love n huggies..xx:)

Been to the doctor today

I have had a blood form sitting at home for some weeks now and on it requesting my levels be checked again ie tsh free t4. I have managed to see my doctor today and they are happy for me to be tested for T3 but did state that the reason why they dont test is they stated that as the t4 is low then the t3 will be aswell:eek:
I also got them to check my iron levels or should i say ferrtin levels and b12. My blood test is due on the 8th of August, and i can wait to see what my results will be:) Im taking so many pills (minerals and vitamins) its unreal....fingers crossed they have improved things:D

Can i ask if my T3 levels are low, would that mean i have to take a t3 supplement as well as a t4? This doctor today thought i should be taking a small amount of throxine, but im trying to hold off for now.

Many blessings,
Rachelx

rachel

rachel have you any idea what your adrenals are doing? the problem with all this is that thyroid and adrenals go hand in glove, depends on what is making your t4 low, and tsh and last t3, are they doing your free t4 and free t3 or total t3, i have manage d to get my own doc to do ft3 but my endo does tt3 and it annoys me becos only a small amount of that is available for use,it has to be converted bythe liver but i guess you know that so if you have a dodgy liver one reason why it wont convert and be low.. see what your blood tests show but when you ring up for them they will'''be normal''... get a copy yourself and post your results on here. .take care curtains..x

Hello Curtains,
Thankyou for your reply. I am only guessing my adrenals are not happy as ive had years of stress. I didnt know about all the different types of t3:o ?? Thanks for telling me.The doctor has just requested t3. My tsh levels are normal it was only my free t4 that is out of range and low. I am also guessing my liver may be alittle out of sorts aswell....as liver is were anger is stored and lets just say ...in the past ive had alot of anger within my life:eek:

Can i ask were you got the information about the liver no converting properly if damaged etc?

Love and light,

Rachelx

dear rachel... i cant remember where i got that info, about liver/t3 i have a drawerful of literature, lets put it this way , i have suffererd so long, my previous doc about 20 years ago would tell me 'you have all the symptoms of low thyroid but i cant treat you because the 'paperwork SAYS you are normal!!! well in those days i knew nothing, i was living life like a zombie anyway ,trauma stress from ex etc.. but becos i was so unwell , with no conclusions i started investigating myself about 12 years ago,i joined THYROID UK, and got a lot of info from there its pretty cheap for membership, i read loads of endocrine and body system books, i can even remeber challenging one doc who told me i was ok, she said look i dont think you understand... t3 gets converted to t4!!! i said it does NOT, t4 gets converted to t3...just goes to show doesnt it.. we need the nhs bigtime but the knowledge of some is appalling. I had to read books as i didnt have internet then, but i became a therapist in 1998 and bought LIFE EXSTENSION book.(american) so much info... i bought CAM mag, which had up to date holistic news and doctors, i just google evrything and pick and choose reliable sites to read. your 'total t3' that your doc has done will show how much t3 you have in your blood stream but it will not show how much of it is available for use by your body. i have a crap liver too and stage 3 kidney, and these organs are important, it beggers belief that each organ is always compartmentalized in our body!!! I have made a new discovery now that adrenal fatique has a link to gluten intolerance and celiac, i have to have a bowel biopsy for celiac and i hope to God that i dont have either , i think maybe that if i had been treated properaly years ago i wouldnt have all these things now. have you done a saliva test for your adrenals, you would have to put a practitioners name on it so your herbal lady would be ideal. genova diagnostics is who i use. it costs 70 quid but at least it would show your cortisol and dhea levels, this is entirely your choice of course you could ask you herb lady what she thinks, nhs wont accept saliva, i have taken mine in to endos many times and they say--oh these things'.. so it just goes to show how many people are having problems with their own docs/endos.. i am think ing of starting an e-petition and if there are 100,000 signatures on it then that subject has to debated in parliament and i think its about time all endocrine sufferes got to together on this for better understanding, the endocrine system is our mainstain of functioning, when that goes wrong , everything goes wrong. i wish you well rachel.xx
