This is interesting that you say the more spiritually advanced you are, the more prepared you will be for setbacks and deal with them more calmly.

Although we don't all agree on that one!

Just the way someone talks you can tell if they're more spiritually advanced.
I see the world through astrological eyes so a lot of the time I can't help but notice things with people and I drop out random little comments. Most of the time I can tell that people are not registering what I'm saying and they just carry on as normal. That's because their mind doesn't think the way mine does. This is how I experience the world, doesn't mean that other people do too. I also have a long, long way to go yet.

I consider myself a slightly damaged soul with a bit of karma but I also thought I was kind of spiritually evolved - not sure how much though 😉
Damn was I totally wrong ??

What do you mean by 'spiritually evolved'? By using the word 'evolved' you are likening it to physical evolution. But evolution has no 'progression'. It has no goal. And it is a natural occurrence, not one that the evolving being has to make any effort for. It doesn't seem a suitable word.

You know, the things you describe - the people not registering what you say, for example, are not because their mind doesn't think the way yours does. How could you tell? It's far more likely that either they are preoccupied with things (to them) more important than your random little comments or they don't really see why you are throwing in such random comments (I don't either. Why would you do that?) so, in a very common British way, they ignore it.

Hahaha sorry !!!
But these titles are just a way of classifying things like science does with the human body and all other things that exist on this planet.

There is no separation. But some labelling, like these titles, are to help us keep things in order.

'And maybe a 'very advanced' soul has decided to have a blinkered existence in one life in order to understand this. How would you tell?'

If you came here as an 'advanced' soul I don't think it would be possible to be blinkered in any one lifetime.
That's what I mean by knowing on a deeper, intuitive level.
I kind of knew I was a spiritual being with a soul very early on in life but I wasn't 100% sure.
Now I'm older I definitely know I am 🙂
I might have been slightly blinkered but I'm not now - that's why I think it would be unlikely to not know you are an 'advanced' or spiritual being if you came back here from many lifetimes before.

Spiritual evolution does have a purpose. There are various ancient teachings e.g. in Buddhism to attain nirvana is to achieve liberation and release from rebirth....emerging into a higher consciousness.

Of course our beliefs help form our mindset which, in turn, impacts on our health.

I see the implication in your question though i.e. that you assume our spirituality is a created belief and, hence, might not be real. I wonder if you have ever gone outside the ego, e.g. via meditation? It is one way that reveals our true essence/soul/spirit. This experience is widespread and common now.

No, you assume quite a lot, my question was addressing the thought that spirituality should not be talked about on a mental emotional forum, what I understand is that all of our underlying thought patterns and beliefs are either created by self to support the ego perception of self that we are trying to manifest, or are adaptations of other people's beliefs that we identify with or think that it is right to believe in them for whatever reason. All beliefs have a direct bearing upon our general state of health and wellbeing, believing we are unworthy will have a detrimental effect upon our general state of health and wellbeing, but then so will the belief that we are more enlightened than others etc, they both create separation, division and conflict within the being that perceives them.

Are you asking if I have ever moved beyond the self imposed ego perception of I am different, separate etc, then yes, it would be very hard to perceive a oneness from within the divisional beliefs that we set up and utilise to project whatever we perceive to be self and separate from everything else, there is no division within the oneness of consciousness because all is one, there is no greater or lesser anything because all is one, there are no judgemental divisions because all is one. 🙂

I remember someone once refusing a healing attunement from me, because they could not accept that within the oneness Adolph Hitler was exactly the same as Mother Teresa, so could not accept the concept of a non-judgemental oneness, but that was a personal choice which was theirs to make, so no problem. 🙂

Hahaha British way - that is quite funny 🙂
Well maybe 'spiritually evolved' is the wrong word then ?
But when I've read literature on these subjects that we talk about they seem to use the word 'advancement' when they talk about the human soul. I think that might be where I got it from.
What I mean is for example I know I've lived here before whereas other people don't believe in reincarnation or think they have been here before.
I don't claim to be a better person but I think maybe I'm more spiritually aware or 'advanced' than they are. Maybe this is egotistical.

With the random little comments I just find it funny. E.g a friend of mine kept acting clumsy and knocking into stuff which I know is a saggitarian trait so I dropped this into the conversation (I probably shouldn't lol)
Maybe people aren't interested but to me it comes across like they don't register it because their mind isn't open to it.
But everyone has the potential to open up the mystical part of themselves. After all every one of us is psychic apparently so maybe they're just not interested in it which is okay.
I see astrology everywhere I go - I can't help it 🙂

In that case, you have not decided not to know this lifetime. Of course it is possible - it happens frequently.

If you'd been brought up (for example) Muslim, then you would not believe in reincarnation. If you had been brought up Hindu, you would believe in it. Whether people believe in reincarnation or not depends on their life experiences, not on any advancement.

With the random little comments I just find it funny. E.g a friend of mine kept acting clumsy and knocking into stuff which I know is a saggitarian trait so I dropped this into the conversation (I probably shouldn't lol)

If it's okay, why are you so sure it makes you more advanced (a word that, whether you say that it doesn't mean 'better' or not, is bound to be interpreted that way).

How have you come to these ideas?

Then evolution is the wrong word.
I actually think that being on a 'learning path' - as I am and as my soul has chosen to be - does have a purpose. Evolution doesn't.

I know what you mean. It sounds as though you are saying you are more advanced, developed & higher up than someone else is.
Flipping hell we see this sort of ego trip everywhere we go - 'don't you know who you're talking to' etc etc. Lol.

Maybe the right word to use is 'spiritually aware' but even to use this word there's always room for impovement with everyone. No one is perfect.

I've just found that when I do talk about such ideas as reincarnation, esoteric practises and mystic stuff in general a lot of people are not receptive to it which is totally okay. This is what led me to believe that my soul must have some kind of advancement to it for it to be made aware of such things. I may be totally wrong of course.
Hope that makes sense.

Evolve just means to develop gradually.

Some people believe in reincarnation. Some religions teach that it is so. Other people, other religions, don't. What led you to this belief?

Have you read Exploring Reincarnation by Hans TenDam? It's pretty old now. My copy is a translation (from Dutch) and was bought in 1990. I don't know if it's still in print. You might find it of interest. Although, be warned, he find NO evidence of karma - as, indeed, I never have either.

By coincidence (?) I have been teaching a workshop this week on past lives. What people discover about themselves is very interesting and useful to them.

Evolve just means to develop gradually.

But evolution as in Darwin doesn't.

Ahhhhhhhh that's what you meant.
Well .... this is the funny thing. I spoke about reincarnation when I was very, very young and I just knew I had been here before. Call it a gut instinct.
I either heard something on the TV or this is what I think happened - I just came out with it.

I haven't been brought up with any religious background and my knowledge of the world religions is very limited.

So there you go - where did I get it from ?? Haha I remember it as plain as day when I spoke about reincarnation to my mum.

Clearly spiritual evolution would not be this. As with many words, they have more than one meaning.
