Yes the creative process that sets about creating an experience is much the same as the manifestation of the experience, they are both neutral, we could classify both as positive as they both actively set about forming or creating something, though the experience can be interpreted in different ways once we place our perceptions on what has occurred. 🙂

This might not be the case with this, but our general state of health and wellbeing is a direct reflection of our underlying state of consciousness (our underlying thought patterns and beliefs), now if your nose is a reflection of a blockage within one or more aspects of your consciousness, then that is where the focus needs to be applied, clear the underlying problem that is manifesting the physical symptoms and the symptoms no longer need to manifest. 😉

I am aware of the psychosomatic element of many illnesses and this is the case for common causes of nasal polyps, i.e. the link to asthma. However, I do not have asthma and the nasal polyps are part of the package of a rare genetic lung condition which I have.

Yes that is one of the first questions that I ask people when they come for healing, 'Were you born this way? if not when did it start'. 🙂

There are those, in some (more extreme) spiritual circles, who think we CHOOSE to be born a certain way! I have been asked why would I want to be born with a genetic lung condition! Hmmm

Mind you, this brings up a related matter - the idea that, before birth, we choose our parents in order to learn certain lessons. It is an interesting idea and I can certainly see that, being brought up by my parents shaped the way I am now to some extent but this would be true of the parent/child relationship anyway wouldn't it (regardless of such a theory)?

I do not personally classify myself as spiritual or anything else come to that, but my understanding is that we do choose the type of parents or lack of them that will give us the type of start to our life experience in accordance with our choices, mind you I do not perceive that we come here to learn lessons (though obviously with a blank everyday thinking aspect of consciousness everything is new and we do need to learn to exist and function here).

Maybe it's a grey area, i.e. why would we choose our particular parents if we did not want (or envisage that) certain experiences will follow on from that? We have experiences to gain something from them don't we e.g. knowledge (as well as sensations).

Yes, the experience is what we gain from any choice we make, we choose to go left and one experience unfolds, if we had chosen to go a different way then a completely different experience would have unfolded, the choice was ours just like the experience that unfolded from that choice was our personal experience, we need to take personal responsibility for them both. 🙂

I'm of the understanding that like calls to like down here.
Souls attract each other in families karmically.
Also you may be working off some karma with your family members thats carrying on from another lifetime.
I think this is where some of the difficult family relationships come in.

In my early childhood lots of mad energies were erupting within my family. I was too young and caught up in it to see what was truly happening. Now I'm older I can see that energetically we were working off karma with each other.

I have heard that how you are born and physical problems with the human body are also karmic. They begin in the energy / soul body of the human and manifest into the physical. Maybe intended for your soul as part of your life experience down here ?

I highlight your last paragraph which is of particular interest to me (since I was born with a genetic lung condition). You say a physical condition may be intended (for our soul) as part of our life experience which suggests it is not of our own making... This is interesting and a deep, complex issue.

It implies that how we are is not totally due to choice but that our choices/freewill are interacting within the context of a bigger design for us. Indeed, it is said that, when we experience synchronicity, it is due to our being in the flow our how our life is intended to go, i.e. not going against the grain.

I would like to think that I wouldn't have chosen to be physically constricted (e.g. having laboured breathing) but that I was born like this perhaps due to past karma (punishment?) or to have certain experiences. I struggle to make sense of the overall 'design' here but I am mindful that illnesses can make us more reflective - looking into the deeper questions in life.

(My current nasal polyp removal operation is related to my genetic lung condition, i.e. the reason they occur. It went well and I can now breathe through both nostrils again for the first time in over a year....something we may take for granted! I do tend to be grateful for so many things which is why I started a thread on it on this forum!)

This depends. Some souls do, others are not in a position to make such choices. One of the problems with many spiritual belief systems is this notion of 'one size fits all' - if it is so for me it must be so for everyone. It doesn't work like that.

Karma is a fantastic device for feeling okay about victim-blaming.

That's interesting. I don't have any hard and fast notions on this issue. I wonder if we gain more control with regard to how our soul evolves. I do believe in soul evolution (and hence the value of learning lessons e.g. becoming a less flawed person that both enables and enhances a greater flow of harmony).

When the body dies and the soul departs (99.9% of the time), the soul has to find its way to the land of the dead. Many (an increasing number) do not get there. If a soul is born from the land of the dead then it has had a chance to do all the reviewing, healing and planning that it needs to do. If it doesn't, it is born with all the wounds of its past life unhealed and with no chance to plan anything.
Even if plans are made, they may well not include who the parents are. Maybe location is more important for a particular soul. If an illness is involved it may have nothing to do with the plans made - someone I knew died of a congenital, hereditary condition at the age of 29. When I spoke to him afterwards he said, "I knew that the condition came with having those parents. But they had so much to teach me that I accepted an early death as a trade-off."
Life plans are not detailed - more along the lines of (and again, a direct quote from a particular soul), " I'm going to be born into a situation where I have a lot to overcome." This soul wasn't making any more plans than that.

As far as being born 'physically constricted' is concerned - it won't be a punishment. It is possible that it is chosen, by your soul, as a lesson. It's possible that it is pure chance. A further possibility is that, in a past life, you died in a way that was physically constricting and your soul was so traumatised by this that it is 'hanging on' to the experience - repeating it because your soul doesn't know how to let go of it. If this is so, then you didn't get to the land of the dead after your last life. If you had, you would have had healing and counselling before being born again.

Sorry to hear about your problems.
I've researched into the whole illness thing and it does seem like certain things happen. I've researched into peoples past lives and there seems to be links with past life deaths and illnesses suffered in the next lifetime. This could all be untrue of course.

I never take the physical body for granted ever. I don't think you ever possibly could. It's our vehicle down here.

I have also heard that there are energetic imprints when a soul is incarnating onto this planet in whatever way that they do - be it a difficult birth or possibly physical problems. (I may be wrong)

I like your being in the flow rather than going against the grain.

I kind of mean that you are working through issues with each other & not necessarily anything bad like you did something awful to me so I'm going to do it back to you.

Each relationship be it familial / love or friendship is like a new chapter in a book where events unfold.
There will be energy interactions in all circumstances plus you have the astrological energies of all the people concerned.
What a complicated mix !?!?!
