Hello everyone
I'm under quite amount of stress at the moment but trying to manage it and I know I need to deal with the stress.
I'm also studying Reflexology which I love but just feel I can't concentrate and I've alot of studying to do yet and it's starting to get to me as I'm worried I'm going to fail. I've books to read etc and I just can't seem to concentrate 🙁
I really want to do this Reflexology as I love it but just can't focus or concentrate and not sure if anyone can offer me any advice/help. Maybe a supplement to help with the stress would help I'm not sure but any advice would be much appreciated.
Love
LilacJewel
Stress is not caused by events and situations but by how we react to them......
I Have you discussed this with the people running your course? Even if you are doing a distance learning I presume you must have been assigned a tutor to help . If they could re-assure you that your work was to a suitable standard you would I presume feel better?
Dear LilacJewel, what a beautiful name you have picked 🙂
I do hope you are feeling better. I find that crystals help me unstress, depending on the cause, I might suggest something like Rose Quartz for emotional upheaval, something grounding like Black Obsidian for times when we need to keep sight of our goals. Many crystals, many options. Do you have any?

I read this and re-read this and then read it again. I am under great stress at the moment, but it is beyond myself to not react, my body just does, even though we know how to calm and cope sometimes stress is innate and just happens, it's like the instinct to protect by flight or fight or freeze?
Thank you Tashanie and Cascara for your help. I've spoke to the tutor on the Course and she said I'm doing really well so far and I just love the hands on aspect of it and not as confident doing all the studying etc.
With my current stress situations I just can't seem to concentrate to read books and this frustrates me as I really do need to be studying more than what I'm doing.
Yeah I have crystals Cascara which I haven't used in a while so must get them out again. I just wish I could focus/concentrate more on the learning/studying part of the course but my mind just doesn't seem to allow me?

Think there's some text missing from your post there Tashanie

The fight or flight response IS automatic. But it is only activated if we PERCEIVE something as a threat. And different people see things in different ways. So one person really enjoys a good argument - while to another person an argument is something to be avoided at all costs. the fact is both responses are learned from experience......but what has been learned can be unlearned. Your reaction is a learned response because of the thoughts you have about your situation. Your thoughts could be changed... This is what hypnotherapists and life coaches do.
Hi LilacJewel
I agree with what Tashanie says - basically your reaction to your thoughts creates the stress. Another way of dealing with the problems you face is with EFT- Emotional Freedom Technique. This is brilliant at dissolving emotional 'blockages' and can be self-applied, but may be better with a practitioner who can help you through the process and if necessary you can then follow on yourself. Well worth a try before things get out of hand.

And EFT would undoubtedly one technique I would teach to someone in this situation if they cam to me for help :-).
Hi
I am a Reflexologist and remember when I was training that I felt I'd never be able to learn all the theory. I loved doing the practical but I struggled with the anatomy and physiology. What helped me was to focus on just one bit at a time and I also noticed that the learning was sort of cumulative - and when I thought I didn't know something I found that a few weeks later more was sinking in. And I found that if I concentrated on bits that I found easier that helped me feel as if I was making some progress 🙂 The course was 18 months and it was probably only in the last couple of months that it even started to feel like it was coming together. In the end I passed the theory exam with a good mark. So take heart that there is a lot of information you are studying and it should all gradually start to come together.
Hope this helps and good luck. Reflexology is lovely 🙂
