I don't own a bike. I've tried freecycle for many months but noone has a bike to spare (and everyone wants one).
I'm surprised - during the months that I myself received daily emails from my local freecycle group (have cancelled the updates now as too many things in the inbox) - I saw offers of various sorts of bikes at least weekly, if not a few times a week. Perhaps if your immediate area is quite small, it may be useful to join a larger neighbouring freecycle group which has more things on offer.
