Yesterday I heard that people who suffer from Heart problems who have been put on Asprin may not have been doing so well as was first thought.
We have all known for years that bleeding could and does happen with that product, I have heard of many cases of people bleeding to death from taking them to thin the blood, however I do think that people will be confused and concerned about that health report yesterday.

Hello Alternative4u
I've moved your post over from General Discussions, since this would seem to be the most appropriate forum for your topic.
Could you please provide a link to this health report you mention?
Thanks 🙂

Here's a link that may be relevant to your post David.

I think it refers to an article that was recently published in The Lancet.
I know that people with gastrointestinal problems have to avoid taking aspirin.

I'd heard about this before reading this thread this morning.
I kind-of knew what I expected to find in the link.
Aspirin is not good, but you know what?
This other medication is good. And there it was - a plug for statins.
For those who don't know this is a fairly standard ploy by drugs companies. The last major example was when soluble aspirin was introduced many years ago. For several months preceeding the launch (of soluble aspirin) stories started appearing in the press about how bad aspirin in tablet form was.
Anyway, I did a little search around the British Medical Journal this morning and came up with this interesting snippet.
People at high risk of stroke or heart attack should be on blood pressure medication even if their blood pressure it not raised, researchers have said.
(The Daily Telegraph - link below).
There's a new tablet coming out......
The Researchers in the above article hold patents on this medication, and have other patents pending.
Hmmmmm.......
These guys are probably not going to be fans of weightloss then - 65% of our UK population are overweight or obese. Overweight and obesity has a direct link to high blood pressure and heart disease (Dept of Health data).
David:)
Like everything, you have to weigh up what you read on the itnernet with persoanl expereince and heatlh advice ... I imagine doctors are going to have their work cut out now in explaining why they are advising asprin etc etc..
Aspirin saved my brother's life. He's taken one baby sized tablet for years. Last week he had a heart attack and quickly gobbled some down before the ambulance arrived. His doctor said it saved his life because he had a plaque blockage in one artery.
That convinced me!
