I'm suffering from a dvt in my left leg. I wondered if anyone else had experience of dvts, whether they are fellow sufferers or family members of dvt patients? I'm feeling very alone, as there doesnt seem to be a big support net for people with my condition (or if there is I cant find it), and cant get anyone to answer my questions or get my family to take me seriously. I dont want to feel self pitying, but at the moment I just feel completely alone and dont really know what to do anymore.

Thanks

Jade xx

What do you need to know? I work with DVT patients and both my parents have had them. How recently did you develop it? Are you coping with the Warfarin? Have you got good support from your GP and practice nurse?

Hi Jabba, thanks for replying. I've had it for almolst 2 weeks, though it wasnt diagnosed til last thursday. sice then I've pretty much been left to get on with it. Had injections at the hospital up til sunday and went to my first INR clinic Tuesday. I've asked the nurses at the hospital, but they told me to ask the cosultant, and the consultant told me the very basic facts and told me to ask questions to my GP. I wondered how long recovery time takes, as the staff at the hospital were vauge at best. The warfarin is making me feel a little unwell - headaches and upset stomach - and to top it off I've been given antibiotics for an infection which is making my INR results go haywire, how long does it take for the warfarin to stabilise in the body?
