RE: can u help

hello roza, your gp would normally ask for about three readings of bp, over about 4 weeks, and then will decide if you need medication

however there is lots you can do yourself to help, first dont worry, and try to relax
other ways are as follows

Ginseng is the most famous Chinese herb. It is the most widely recognized plant used in traditional medicine. Various forms of ginseng have been used in medicine for more than 7000 years. Several species grow around the world, and though some are preferred for specific benefits, all are considered to have similar properties as an effective general rejuvenator.
The name panax is derived from the Greek word panacea meaning, "all healing" and the benefits of ginseng are recognized as such. Ginseng is commonly used as an adaptogen, meaning it normalizes physical functioning depending on what the individual needs (for example, it will lower high blood pressure, but raise low blood pressure). check with your gp first

Garlic is a member of the onion family and is nature's most versatile medicinal plant. Garlic has been used all over the world for thousands of years for a wide range of conditions. It has been prized since the first records of civilization for its uses in treating wounds, infections, tumors, and intestinal parasites.
Modern scientists in numerous clinical trials have concluded that Garlic lowers cholesterol, lowers blood pressure, thins the blood (which reduces your risk of heart attack and stroke) and fights bacteria like an antibiotic.

please let me know if you would like, how you get on

kind regards mike

Hi Rosa

Try drinking lots of water every day until your appointment. I was reading that hypertension is in some cases a manifestation of the body`s drought management. We are apparantly not drinking enough water causing the cells to loose vital water which is needed to funtion properly. Have you heard of "osmosis"? This is a function that regulates the water outside the cell and inside it. It helps keep the environment in the cell in a alkaline pH balance. The body will push up the blood pressure to "reverse" osmosis. It may sound very scientific but it`s just the body`s defense mechanisms kicking in.

Some people can prevent or control high blood pressure by changing to healthier habits, such as:

Following the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) Eating Plan, which includes cutting down on salt and sodium and eating healthy foods such as fruits, vegetables, and low-fat dairy products
Losing excess weight and staying at a healthy weight
Being physically active (for example, walking 30 minutes every day)
Quitting smoking
Limiting alcohol intake

Sometimes blood pressure stays too high even when a person makes these kinds of healthy changes. In that case, it is necessary to add medicine to help lower blood pressure. Medicines will control your blood pressure, but they cannot cure it. You will need to take blood pressure medicine for a long time.
