Hey,
I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same symptoms as these, and if they got a diagnosis i can base my thoughts on before i go to the doctors office (Monday).
If i get up, it can feel like my heart will speed up, then pause, then slow back to normal... I can feel light-headed although that is probably panic...
Also if i am (say up a climbing wall), or walking fast up a hill i can get similar symptoms, but also sometimes like a "vibration" or uncomfortable feeling in my chest (Not pain, kind of like a flopping)... That i dont feel light-headed just a little bit uncomfortable..
Thanks for everyone who replies,
MicroOrg
(I will say that i have had pretty much similar symptoms for about 8/9 months, with the first 4 times i went to the doctor them blaming it on a chest infection)
anyone else experience the same
dear microOrg, in june 2006 i went through EXACTLY SIMILAR SYMPTOMS AS YOU FACE. faster heart beats when getting up, slowing to normal, palpitation when walking up a gentle slope or walking faster, no chest pain etc.
my background may be different so look at the following:
i am 75, male, had two heart coronary bypass operations in 1987 and 1999. between that time and june 2006 i led a full active life( not working , but walking, travelling, gardening, do-it-yourself jobs at home small scale plumbing etc.) in june 2006 came the symptoms described above.
after tests my cardiologist said they preferred not to do another bypass in view of my age and also because the relevant arteries had good flow, but overall heart pump capacity was below 40%. they changed my medication and since july 2006, within a month of the new medication, the symptoms went away. essentially they increased my dosage on blood flow conditioning statins. i am back to normal now. if you want to know the medication i am taking e-mail me . wish you get back to normal soon teecee
I can get these palpatations as I suffer from sleep apnea. I found by elevating the head of the matteress, it stops it happening. Worth a try. Doesnt explain though palpatations during day though.
