My friend broke her ankle just before Christmas. She has been signed off so to speak but her leg still swells up if she walks too far.
Does anyone know of anything to help this situation and bring the swelling down as it is very painful at times.

Could be post-trauma lymphoedema.Best to see a lymphoedema therapist ([link= http://www.mlduk.org.uk ]www.mlduk.org.uk[/link]) In the meantime, elevation when possible, making sure that the knee is cushioned and the ankle is above the hip (when seated). She could find a surgical supply shop, and invest in a compression garment - a company called Medi have something suitable, and the shop would be able to measure the affected leg and supply one.
