Hello All,

I am appealing on behalf of a work colleague for anyone in the UKof Mediterranean origin willing to donate bone marrow to please pm me urgently.

My colleague's wife desperately needs a bone marrow transplant and they have exhausted all available options in terms of donor registers etc.

Her husband is about to launch a major bone marrow donor drive along with the BBC and the Anthony Nolan Trust. The total number of donors in the UK who have a Mediterranean background amounts to just 3,069 i.e. less than 1% of the UK registered total, which explains whymy colleague islaunching this appeal.

Please note that initially it is just a simple blood sample (4ml) which is ALL I am asking people with a Mediterranean background to do at the moment. If you require further information before making this decision,please feel free to pm me.
