Hi
Had this for a few years now so i know its nothing 'serious' but a little history......
One morning had a wierd sort of groin pull when getting out of bed! Didnt really think anything of it but it didnt go away so went to docs etc and could not find anything 'wrong' so i just left it. That was 5 years ago but its never really gone away but also never got worse, but since that time i seem to wake up with a sort of hangover feeling even if i have not drank anything for a few weeks. Muscles feel stiff, tight and achy and i just feel slow. I also notice that my abdominals are tender to massage so wonder if anyone can put these riddles together?
thanks for any thoughts
RE: 'Hungover Feeling' on waking
[sm=confused-smiley-012.gif]Not too sure but the hungover feeling could simply be dehydration. Without enough fluid you will feel very odd in the mornings and your muscles will be stiff. Try increasing your fluid intake throughout the day. As for the groin strain, it may simply be just that, a mild strain and you repeat the movement everyday on rising. That would just keep it 'ticking over' so you never seem to get better. Have you tried keeping still on awakening and just waking up your body gradually before getting up? Start at your toes, wiggle them and flex them. Then go up your body gentle stretching and wiggling until you get to the top. Sit yourself up then place your legs over the edge of the bed. feet firmly on the floor and push yourself upwards. Get your balance and then take a small step forward. Don't rush about and try and feel how your body is. If you seem a bit slow then be slow. If you push yourself too quickly you will just pull a muscle or strain it.

Just because it has been there for a long time, it doesn't mean it isn't serious.
If I were you, I'd go and get checked out by a professional and in person.
You might be spasming in such a way that the kidneys are impeded. Or a liver problem could give you the aches. But please get seen!
RE: 'Hungover Feeling' on waking
thanks for the response - i know its all a bit 'wierd' and i am not wholly sure its related. I have been checked out when this first started with lots of blood work etc and nothing has ever been revealed - Would blood tests show up things like that?
thanks
RE: 'Hungover Feeling' on waking
liver function tests are many and varied, so a liver problem would show up only if they did a full range of tests. The most common thing is to have a bit too much bilirubin in the blood, I sometimes get that.
Pressure on your kidneys - probably not so obvious to conventional medicine. A more holistic discipline might give you a clearer answer - many acupuncturists work quite intuitively, reflexologists too and kinaesatherapists. Sometimes the practitioner is more important than their particular choice of 'tools'!
RE: 'Hungover Feeling' on waking
thanks - To be honest i do not have a lot of 'faith' in conventional medicine at the moment and i have been considering visiting a kinesiologist - In your personal opinion would this be a sensible approach?
RE: 'Hungover Feeling' on waking
the waking up hungover could be the early stages of diabetes
RE: 'Hungover Feeling' on waking
interesting, as that is something that has crossed my mind but never thought too much about it. Would that also cause general muscle aches and mild spasm probably not but its possible i guess.
