In my tradition, Christian Science, people are healed of their physical (and other) difficulties, of whatever nature, through a spiritual approach.
Mary Baker Eddy, the author of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures was a deeply religious Christian woman who suffered from sickliness and repeated illnesses throughout the first half of her life, until through deep study of the Bible, she re-discovered the healing power Jesus used.
