A confidential source, whose account we've been able to independently confirm, revealed that a billion-dollar drug company in the United States tried for nearly seven years to synthesize two of the tree's most powerful anti cancerous chemicals. As the dream of big profits evaporated, testing on Graviola came to a screeching halt After seven frustrating years and without the promise of lucrative sales, the company shelved the project and refused to publish its findings in an independent journal. Graviola hunts down and destroys prostate, lung, breast, colon, and pancreatic cancers... leaving healthy cells alone Since November, we've been looking closely into the research to date on Graviola. It appears one of the first scientific references to it in the United States was by the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
In 1976, the NCI included Graviola in a plant-screening program that showed its leaves and stems were effective in attacking and destroying malignant cells. But the results were part of an internal NCI report and were, for some reason, never released to the public.
Since 1976, there have been several promising cancer studies on Graviola. However, the tree's extracts have yet to be tested on cancer patients. No double-blind clinical trials exist, and clinical trials are typically the benchmark mainstream doctors and journals use to judge a treatment's value. Nevertheless, Graviola has been shown to kill cancer cells in vitro in at least 20 laboratory tests that our research has uncovered.
The most recent study, conducted at Catholic University of South Korea earlier this year, revealed that two chemicals extracted from Graviola seeds showed "selective cytotoxicity comparable with Adriamycin" for breast and colon cancer cells. The chemicals targeted and killed malignant breast and colon cells in a test tube--comparable to the commonly used chemotherapy drug Adriamycin.2
Another study, published in the Journal of Natural Products, showed that Graviola is not only comparable to Adriamycin--but dramatically outperforms it in laboratory tests. Results showed that one chemical found in Graviola selectively killed colon cancer cells at "10,000 times the potency of Adriamycin.

Chemotherapy indiscriminately seeks and destroys all actively reproducing cells - even normal, healthy ones.
Other promising and ongoing research at Purdue University is supported by a grant from the National Cancer Institute. Purdue researchers recently found that leaves from the Graviola tree killed cancer cells "among six human-cell lines" and were especially effective against prostate and pancreatic cancer cells.4 In a separate study, Purdue researchers showed that extracts from the Graviola leaves are extremely effective in isolating and killing lung cancer cells.
Perhaps the most significant result of the study cited above from the Catholic University of South Korea, and of each of the others we've found, is that
Graviola was shown to selectively target the enemy--leaving all healthy, normal cells untouched. By comparison, chemotherapy indiscriminately seeks and destroys all actively reproducing cells--even normal hair and stomach cells. This is what causes such often-devastating side effects as hair loss and severe nausea. In this respect, Graviola looks to be a promising alternative or supplement to mainstream treatments.
Patient reports show Graviola and N-Tense help eliminate tumors From a clinical standpoint, Graviola still has a long way to go. Its properties have only been studied in a test tube. If there was ANYTHING that could provide an effective treatment for pancreatic cancer it would have been grabbed with both hands. It is one cancer where no progress has been made.
And Adriamycin is no longer a 'commonly used drug '- which makes me wonder about the age of this paper - and how well researched it has been.

As for the research, there is never going to be enough proof, what more proof do people need other than it has worked and does work?

If there was any evidence it worked in pancreatic cancer it would have been trialled by now. (assuming this paper is as old as the Adriamycin comment indicates) Pancreatic cancer is a brutal killer and so far nothing has been found to really help. Do you REALLY think doctors would ignore something that had potential? I don't .

If by “medicine men in South America” you mean Amazonian shamans (and I think you must since there is no one else there to practice “medicine”), you are misunderstanding the whole way that plants are used shamanically. Or rather, the article that you are quoting misunderstands this.
Shamans do not work on a “this type of plant cures that illness” style model. They work by getting to know the spirits of an individual plant and negotiating with that individual plant to help a specific person with a specific problem. A different shaman might use a completely different plant to get the same effect. I have seen different practitioners use different plants – dock, ramsons, oak leaves – to treat what we generally consider the same condition – arthritis – in different clients. All worked.
This has nothing to do with the “active ingredients” of the plant, but everything to do with the relationship between shaman/shamanic practitioner and the spirit of the plant.
As for the research, there is never going to be enough proof, what more proof do people need other than it has worked and does work?

There are many DVDs available such as “Run from the cure” “A world without cancer” “Cancer the hidden cures” ” The forbidden cures” etc.
When I put all this together I wonder what is happening why these cures are not given to people or made known to them, I get the same answer almost every time it has not been proven, surely the proof of the pudding is in the eating, people walking away cancer free after some of these cures, yet people are still told not to administer them, with the threat of prison if they do.
As to the proof of whether they work which people are screaming out for, I cannot give proof I did not do the research! I only make people aware.

There are many people on Healthy Pages who believe and practice healing ways that science has not proved. Most of them science has not disproved either. We are not - on the whole - sceptics. It is not good discussion to dismiss our arguments here any more than it is on the Laws of Attraction thread. You are simply stating what you believe and then intimating that we have failed somehow because we do not agree with you.

If, by your own admission, you do not know about the different cancers, then how can you unequivocably state that you know these things cure cancer. On what evidence?

There's lots of DVD's and videos on youtube etc. about all sorts of things. Apparently there are little knitted pink creatures living on the moon with some sort of dragon. It must be true, I saw it on TV when I was a child. Proof that dragons exist as well as these "clangers" they talk of. Never seen them myself though and science dismisses it, but I know it... you can't pull the wool over my eyes.
When I put all this together I wonder what is happening why these cures are not given to people or made known to them, I get the same answer almost every time it has not been proven, surely the proof of the pudding is in the eating, people walking away cancer free after some of these cures, yet people are still told not to administer them, with the threat of prison if they do.
Because without proper tests, people could be given things that could do more harm. As it says on the Cancer Research website, Graviola is possibly a cause of observed problems with the nervous system, similar to parkinsons disease, but more research is needed to find out either way if it helps or hurts.
People can get better from cancer for many reasons, some through orthodox treatment, and some who have not had orthodox treatment. They may have tried 'other things' to help. It's possible it may have helped, but there's no conclusive evidence to actually say "yes it was those things". It's great that people have got better, whether they attribute that to just eating more healthly, or following some other complementary/alternative treatment, or whether it was just a 'miracle', and no doubt there is some benefits in some alternative things out there, but unfortunately there just isn't the proof to put it in mainstream medicine for the doctors to prescribe. Who would get the flak if someone took one of these treatments and had serious side effects?

That's exactly the point though... nobody has done conclusive research. It's all circumstancial evidence.
So, you can go around, making people aware that there are possible alternatives that may help... no problem with that... but to go around declaring that these are "cures" without valid evidence is as wrong as if the medical community told people that orthodox medicines would cure them.

MANY years ago when I was a pharmacist working on oncology wards back in the 80s, I became aware of a body called the Bristol Cancer help Centre who were promoting high dose vitamin C for cancer. I wrote as a professional and asked them for any information they could give me as one of our patients wanted to use high dose vitamin C , the doctor was intrigued enough to give it a go but we all wanted to know a little more about it. To my disappointment all I got back from them was the standard information pack that they would send out to anyone who enquired. No papers, no references. The literature contained all sorts of things that had me wondering what was going on including information about the benefits of coffee enema's, and the merits of visualisation. This was to imagine a golden cell going round eating all the cancer cells.
30 years later and with more knowledge and experience I understand why they used visualisation. But coffee enema's and high dose vitamin C remain unproven. Surely if they were any good in 30 years enough people would have tried it to give even anecdotal results? How long has Graviola been around? And there is still no evidence that I can find
But these unconventional treatments will never get accepted if those who promote them don't treat people like myself who genuinely want information as just another punter. They need to respect the fact that someone from within the conventional medical world wants to know more. And they have to accept that certain standards of evidence need to met. And that includes showing that the risk benefit ratio is worthwhile.
People who have been diagnosed with cancer are vulnerable. I know . I've been there and even when you know it won't kill you its a body blow. And when the diagnosis is terminal people will try anything. You 'just share' speculation and dress it up as fact. When something is potentially harmful and has no proven benefit at all I will argue against it - not because I am against complementary medicine but because I care about the vulnerable people who may opt to use it and end up worse off than they were both financially and with regard to their health.

To all the sufferer of cancer, my heart goes out to you and I hope you find a cure that will help you.
Over the years I have been greatly interested in the alternative cures for cancer, I do not know what drives me on this path other than the Lord, to make people aware of these treatments that are withheld.
If you look back through this thread and others I have introduced, you will realize how defensive to stop me by so many people, from releasing this knowledge to people, and how many are trying to stop me from letting you know, with the pretext of it hasn't been proven, what more proof do they want, other than people who have been sent home to die are now cancer free?
I do not want to give anyone false hope, just that there is other help God has given us to try as well,
These alternative cures were here long before the pharmaceutical company's..
