Hi,
As some of you may have read, I am considering a discectomy, and I have been worried about the prospect of reherniating a disc.
I wanted to ask the people who have had successful discectomies as to why they think they did not reherniate their discs? How does it feel once you are done with the op? Do you regain your strength?
I have had a lot of worries regarding this issue because I just wonder what happens to the disc after they leave a hole in it??
A standard discectomy leaves the disc open so what prevents that form coming out, and why doesn't it usually? Does a shell or tissues form over the hole the surgeon creates?
I hope people can contribute to this thread because I am sure others will have these questions, and if anyone on these forums have opinions or can share what they were told by surgeons, it may help alleviate some of the fears people may have in regards to surgery.
Kind regards
I A
