Hello,
I would be interested to hear from anyone who has had a facectomy (had undercutting not full removal) and a discectomy at the same time for lumbar decompression: how are you doing? Are you/where you tired for weeks/months afterwards? I am post surgery 3 weeks and feel so tired with everything I do. Physio has started but will I feel any less tired any time soon? The physio has given me a few exercises to do but how long will it take to build up my back muscles?

I walk daily but even that is tiring me out and I seem to spend all my time lying down as this is more comfortable that sitting. Was this really such a big operation that it can knock you out for abslolutely weeks?

Thank you and any insight from anyone farther down the road than me would be helpful.
Nic:confused:

Dear Nic,

Not to be too blunt but I can't really think of many more operations that are more serious than removing bits of one's spine? I haven't had the op, I refused it, but I do know that even the pre-op MRI whacked me out for several days and an operation on my knee left me weak for 5 weeks.

Talk to your physio and gp and surgeon. Maybe even see if you need blood tests to check everything is ok with no underlying cause, and then relax and rest.

Good Luck 🙂
