I know very little about Bowen Technique - but a friend is a practitioner and is doing wonders for my ( what the doctors call) Carpal Tunnel. So yes, that's well worth a try.

You don't say what the accident 20 years ago did? Did you get a diagnosis then? I would be very wary of any bone cracking and depending on the dx 20 years ago you would most probably need an mri. Pain into the legs is most probably a disc problem and any manipulation could make it worse..

Hi,

I would advise going back to your Doctor and asking to be referred for an MRI scan - hopefully the actual problem can then be ascertained before resorting to anyone that is going to move things around! Having been there; really wouldn't recommend any manipulation until you know what you are dealing with.

Consider manual therapy, such as physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic or osteopathy. It is also best to see your physician first.

Get a second or more opinions from other health professional especially those who expert in back pain and injuries. You can ask for recommendations from people close to you. They might know someone whom you can undergo test and other check ups to know the cause of your back pain and to implement proper solutions for it.

Have you heard of magnetic therapy too? My Mom had it and it works on her back pain. She's feeling okay now. In fact, she bought a magnetic bracelet to prevent the pain and to totally get rid off it. I hope this helps and you'll soon be okay,
