RE: In need of some serious help here - Please!
Hi Joe- glad you are painless!
yeah - tried accupressure - also think we naturally press and rub the bits our bodies need us to.
What would such a specialist be called?

Hi Joss,
My experience is that the best people for fixing trapped or pinched nerves are those who work aligning the skeletal structure, namely osteopaths and chiropractors. I think that you said that you had tried them before, but perhaps a different one would be worth considering.
I will ask for more healing to be sent your way this morning.
with love and light,
Sue

Hi Joss
Here are some notes based on my girlfriend's reply as per my other posting in the LC forum regarding how she conquered her ME/back injury... maybe worth cherry-picking anything of note ...
With ME, she had to pace herself over the 2yr period, resting regularly and congratuting herself for everything achieved, e.g. making a cup of tea to walking down the road and back. Anti-depressants (or SSRI as they're called) helped with lack of serotin produced and lifted her out of the black hole. She also used an exercise for visiting her body from the inside and telling each part of herself that she loves it, accepts it and its weaknesses but wishes to make it stronger - that one really worked for her.
She then had a car accident a few weeks ago which left her with a back and neck injury - she could hardly move her upper body and was often hunched up. Started having Reiki from a friend of ours (a very very strong practitioner who is also a Sports Physio/Masseure amongst other things) and it's totally transformed her. May be worth checking with NHS to see if they can fund you having Reiki.
Wishing you the best
Simon

Hello there Joss,
I was walking past a Chiropractic practice a couple of days ago, and I remembered what you had said in an ealier posting. You had said, "An osteopath said that the joint there is pushed forward towards my chest - which makes it difficult to treat."
I went in and had a chat (without giving any details about yourself, apart from your sex and that you lived in England), and said that you had been told that a joint had been pushed forward. I asked how difficult this was to treat and he said that he had worked on that type of condition himself, and he certainly sounded optimistic. Since I had said that you were about 400 miles away, he was not touting for custom, so I believe him.
What he did say was that you should look at the General Chiropractic Council's website [link= http://www.gcc-uk.org ]www.gcc-uk.org[/link] for someone near you. People on that site are fully qualified, registered, and held to a code of conduct. I wouldn't do any harm to make a few phone calls and see which of your local practicioners (is that how you spell it?) has treated others with joints which are pushed in. You can ask costs and how many treatments they think it will take when you are talking to them. Asking how many treatments they estimate may seem a silly question, but my personal experience in having my own back treated tells me that some practicioners like to do as little manipulation as possible for the smallest number of sessions, and there are others who seem to drag it out. The last one I went to was so good that I haven't needed any teatment for over 5 years.
As I am sure you know, there are many nerves which come out through the spaces between the joints of the back, and if these are pinched the person will have severe pain which will not be solved until the cause of the piching is corrected.
with love and light,
Sue.
RE: In need of some serious help here - Please!
Thank you Sue!
I have see chiropractors and osteopaths and none of them have been able to help. Before I had the sugery it used to work for some parts of my back (except the bit that needed sugery). It seems that all of my muscles are in such tight spasm that they are unable to make ajustments.
I will try again though - if I can find some cash (I'm not joking when I say I can't afford it - I really do not have any money to spare). They osteopaths and chiropractors I have seen over the years are ones that have been recommended to me and I have no doubt that thy are good at what they do and have been honest when they think they can not help me.
It's strange though - one chiropractor tld me that I should keep trying to stretch my neck muscles and an osteopath said I shouldn't becuase I would over extend them and this would cause more spasm.
Thank you for taking the time and trouble to ask for me - I promise I will contact someone again when I am able to.

Hi Simon,
'May be worth checking with NHS to see if they can fund you having Reiki.'
Now that really made me laugh...
I am trying to come to terms with the idea of not doing stuff I want to do when I am feeling up to doing it - it's a hard one to deal with. I wonder how your girl friend got to the point where she was able to make the decision and then stick to it. That's the bit I have the problem with.
May be I am just not the woman she is. I feel so all over the place I don't know what month it is half the time. How do I get to a point where I can be that ordered? I know I just have to DO IT!
It's truely pathetic isn't it. Also just getting shopping sometimes takes me way over the mark - what do I do about that?
Love and good thonhs,
Joss

Hi Joss
In reply, I'd recommend you taking another look at my post in the LC forum - [link= http://www.healthypages.net/forum/tm.asp?m=395981 ]clicky[/link]
Little steps may be the best way forward - instead of looking weeks, months and yrs down the line, look at what you need to get done today ... congratulate yourself ... be grateful ... and hold back from doing too much (boom bust) just because you feel better for a few hours ... you can make it happen ...
Keep me posted with how you get on
Regards
Simon

Hi Joss,
I'm new here. It sounds absolutely dreadful. I don't know what to suggest. Have you heard of or been able to look up emotional freedom technique- eft?
Somewhere you will find something that makes you feel better.
love and get well soon

Hi Joss
You have had loads of support from HP members and having back pain myself (from a scoliosis) my heart also goes out to you. I have found relief from acupuncture, I do Tai Chi and Pilates but most of all I now recognise the feeling in my body when my back is about to go out - and that is anger. It is not just an irritation or superficial anger - it is very deep seated and I first became aware of it during some wonderful psychotherapy sessions. It doesn't necessarily stop my back from going out but I am working on the anger......and it helps to take away that victimised feeling.
One of the best books I have read on pain is by Ingrid Bacci and is called Effortless Pain Relief. She too was bedridden for a couple of years and the book is pretty much telling how she got her mobility back and much more.I was lucky enough to interview her on MySpiritRadio and you can still listen to the interview FREE by going to [link= http://www.myspiritradio ]www.myspiritradio[/link]. and going to the archive section and finding Ingrid Bacci. She is an amazing woman and I was very honoured to speak to her.
Wishing you clarity and healing
