RE: exercise

As a Pilates teacher I wouild suggest Pilates help you deal with your back pain. But it won't help you lose weight.
How about a stationary bike? There are two types, upright, and reclining. You should find both at agym, for instance. The reclining type may suit you better.
You could also get a gym ball and do some gentle bouncing at home.

Hi everyone,

You could also get a gym ball and do some gentle bouncing at home.

I've been thinking of buying a gym ball that I saw advertised on TV (core secrets) which comes with some DVDs. I have problems doing abdominal crunches because of my back/neck and wondered if it would be less strain if I followed this exercise DVDalong with the gym ball.

SW x

RE: exercise

About the gym ball - they can be used to give your back support during abdominal work. I was going to add that it would be a good idea to see a physio about exercise advice as depending on the back problem some things may be contra-indicated. A physio would show you how to use a ball correctly. - I wouldn't rely on a DVD as many possible exercises may be inappropriate for someone needing rehab.

Hiya CR

I sympatise with you mate. They say gentlelovemaking burns up some calories, so you will have to get hubby involved here, tell him a 2-4 times a day should do the trick.;)
