Hi, 3 Years ago i started to have back pain and my GP referred me to have a MRI which showed degenertive disc disease but no nerve entrapment, he later referred me to the pain clinic who suggested I have an epidural and also a course of gapupentin. this helped for the short term but everntually the pain became unbearable again so after six months i went for another epidural and another after another six months which brings me up to now I have leg pain, and pins and needles in my heel, and my toes go numb when i was then referred to having another MRI which shows mild prolasped discs on S1 L4/L5 also have minimal nerve reflex in my right ankle I have now been referred to a spinal assesment with a neurosurgeon what does this mean?
Hi and welcome 🙂
The mri I presume was taken lying down? Do you get much pain lying down?
I bet if you had an standing and weightbearing spinal xray and mri it might show the cause of the pain much better. Have you looked at the sites like [DLMURL="http://www.chirogeek.com/001_Tutorial_Birth-of-Bulge.htm"]Birth of a bulge[/DLMURL] and Spinal Foundation - Conditions they will be the best place, and then research like crazy on the net 🙂
