Hi!
I'm new. Well, kind of. I was a member on here several years ago, but totally forgotten my log in details and don't think I have access to the email I signed up with anymore.
Anyhow, I'm getting back into my massage therapies again and going into business with a friend who concentrates on the healing side of things (reiki, crystal healing and the like). I've just had a meeting with a guy that runs a hotel near my house about providing treatments for his guests one evening a week. He doesn't have a dedicated space so it would be treatments in guests rooms, which I'm a bit wary about doing. It's not a posh hotel, but it's not seedy either. It's family run. So I was thinking about limiting treatments to things I can do on the treatment chair, so chair massage and Indian head massage. And maybe ear candles.
Does anyone have experience of working in this kind of environment?
Hi Eos,
I used to work at a hotel years ago, when I was a beautician. Though we had a beauty room, there were some clients who wanted me to come up to their suites. But we only had female clients, so it was never a problem. I assume you're a woman?
I think your idea of restricting it to chair treatments is good. I would talk it over with the manager. Also, if you wear a uniform and are very professional and make it clear that there are to be no "extras", you should be fine. Make sure the door is unlocked, so you could make a quick getaway too! 😉
All the best,
Judy
Thank you. I've already spoken to them and they're keen for me to do something for their guests. I did mention that chair treatments would be easier as there's not a lot of space in some of the rooms. I'm thinking of getting some leaflets done specifically for there with just those treatments on.
Wow, that must be a good idea! I'd also prefer foot massage..!
Btw did u think about having a massage arm chair that does all the hard work automatically? :):))))
