Hi all,

I'm so glad to have come across this forum.

I'm a qualified counsellor and currently training as a psychologist. I had my first Reiki session about a month ago and it's got me interested in energy, crystals and healing.

I've posted a question in the Reiki forum about training but thought I'd introduce myself here too.

Looking forward to learning and sharing experiences with others here 🙂

Thanks Jnani, happy to give an explanation for my internet name...had it for years.

About 10 years ago, myself and a previous partner were having a hypothetical conversation about having children and what we'd name them (we didn't actually want children).

I came across the name 'Lilith' which I thought would be a very pretty name for a girl. Turns out Lilith was an angel who fell out of favour because she didn't do what was expected and was thrown out of heaven, although other sources say she was in the garden of Eden and was banned from there for not doing what God and Adam wanted! Hence I came up with the internet name, 'Fallen Angel' 🙂

In Jewish folklore, Lilith was the first wife of Adam, created at the same time and from the same dirt as him. He put her aside (or she left him) because he demanded she submit to him and she refused. Good for her.

Some stories continue that she 'lay with demons' and became the mother of demons. If a man sleeps alone in a house, Lilith will have sex with him. If a man masturbates to ejaculation, Lilith will steal the sperm. Seems to me there's a lot of hatred and fear of women in these stories. She sounds like a good, strong woman. 🙂

The word 'Lilith' seems to be associated with spirits in Babylonian mythology - probably why the Jews interpreted the word as meaning a demon.

Yes, this is what I read too and thought, good on her!! Clearly a woman who knows her own mind 😉
