Hi everyone - any bankers out there?? Could someone tell me - if I pay chqs into a bank and have added them up incorrectly, do the bank automatically put the correct amount into your acc or do you have to tell them?:dft001:

Hello and welcome to Healthypages 🙂

I can't answer your query for sure, but I'd hazard a guess there's an automated procedure that kicks in to correct possible errors.

Do tell us a little bit more about yourself, this is a very friendly forum. In which particular therapies are you mainly interested?

Welcome to HP Anzaks - hope you enjoy being here!

Our current bank usually contacts us about a fortnight later to say there has been a mistake. (My OH is a bit dyslexic). If on the other hand you find a mistake it is much better to take all the relevant paperwork in and get it sorted soonest! Our other bank could take months and may not have found the error at all! So it depends on the bank too - how vigilant they are.

All the best

Caroline

:hippy:Hello Anzaks.

Your money is recounted before your money goes into your account, so dont worry,
they always check because they are not going to give you money, that they can get away with,

take care

:hippy:Thanks all for your replies. I did think that Blackcrow but it is nice to have it confirmed, if everyone accidentally added 5p everytime they paid in - the banks would soon be out of business!! not my money either and it was actually the error of the cashier but I did not notice until a little later. I was doing a favour for someone so will tell them as soon as I see them.

Hi Caroline N and Holistic - I am a Complementary Therapist (Reflexology, IHM, Aromatherapy massage, Reiki, EFT, Infant massage tutor - and make, or used to , my own organic natural skin care products) but am not practising at the mo because we relocated to a smaller home in 2007 and it is not practical at the moment. I used to have my own therapy centre along with hubby, but we decided we wanted to downsize, make things a little less complicated etc - miss it all now though.

I am working in admin which I enjoy - hours are a little bit unsociable but good on the whole.
Live only a mile from the sea so have beautiful places to look at.:nature-smiley-008:
Thanks again - thought my q would get a little lost amid all the other interesting forums
