Billie Piper took the sensible decision not to involve OK! or Hello! in her wedding yesterday. They had a fairly low key ceremony in a small church with close friends and family.

She seems to buck the trend. She is the only celebrity I have heard of who refused to take her ex-husband to the cleaners.

Hi Orange,

Yes - was impressed with Billie's dignity. Granted she and Chris Evans didn't have children but at least there wasn't an unseemly scrabble. I know someone who was in a drama with Billie and said she was nice to work with.

Also I like the idea of no wedding pics in celeb magazines (which i find nauseating) . A media quote from the Fox family of celeb pics appearing in such mags was "Vulgar, vulgar, vulgar" which says it all really.

A question - does Kerry katona have a life/career outside of magazine world ?? I was in a newsagents the other day and saw her face on no less that 3 mags and this is a regular occurrence. She's always talking about her latest pregnnacy or the latest disaster to befall her.

I'm thinking of doing the same. I'm having a new kitchen installed - that'll be £100,000 to OK magazine for pictures of happygirl in her new kitchen. Nice little earner .

An old head on young shoulders ( hope i've got that proverb right!:o) is how i would describe Billie, and i agree, how refreshing that she hasn't sold her wedding to some glossy magazine, and has had a very amicable divorce with no hard feelings on both sides.

Ohhhh, don't get me started on KK Happygirl, :soapbox: she's got her own reality show now, starting in Feb! Think i'm going to follow your example HG, i wonder if any of these glossy mages would be interested in following me around the supermarket doing my food shopping and posing down the aisles with me primark gear on ?LOL!

Warmest wishes- calla lily x

Your right about having photographers there from magazines, takes away a bit of the romantic scale.

However, I'm sure many of you, if offered £25,000 for someone to take a few pictures you for a brochure, would take it.

If I was already rich I'd just send a couple of the best pictures in later.

Ooh yes - I'd buy it - I'd rather look at you shopping than yet another picture of the Spice girls, KK and Jordan.

I'll also be bringing out a range of beauty and fitness DVDs !! Oil of Olay and E45 cream for my "beauty regime" - a very short DVD indeed !! LOL. :rollaugh:

Sunray - have thought about what you said but I'm quite a private person so - no I don't think £25 grand would tempt me. My ideal wedding would be just close family and friends or running away to get married. Having a magazine photographer, guests being subject to security measures or a photographer nosing around my house would be my idea of sheer hell.

Heard today that Sian lloyd (the TV weather forecaster and former fiancee of Lembit Opik - now squeeze of one half of the Cheeky girls) got married on Sunday in a private ceremony (with only 7 guests) in Portmeirion, Wales.

If people stopped buying these magazines they wouldn't be around. I never buy any magazines, full of ideals that most people can't live up to not to mention unhealthy size 0's who need a good wholesome meal inside them!

Totally agree. Trouble is there are obviously many peeps buying them otherwise (as you say) there'd be no market for them.

I certainly don't buy them (although I do buy mags which tend to be "general" not focussed on celebs). Unfortunately I see the faces of Posh spice, Jordan, KK grinning (or pouting) down from these magazine covers when I'm in the newsagents. This happens regularly (on a weekly basis) - so i know that they're in them VERY frequently. Instead of doing something worthwhile it's just easy cash. Open your house and smile for the cameras.

With your kitchen fitting, and my weekly shop, sales of glossy mags would increase tenfold Happygirl LOL!

I admit to buying one weekly glossy mag, (New) but would never buy the likes of Hello et al as to me, its 'celeb' overload done with much simpering and sensationalism.:042:

Totally agree - sales would rocket. I'm having my spray tanning session as we speak - in order to look gorgeous next to my new washing machine. LOL:rollaugh:
