Hi, I was wondering if anyone's had bad tummy pains after having colonic treatment done. I suffer with IBS and been having colonic treatment for the past 3 years, but after the last session, I've experienced period like pains, and my right side, just near my appendix, which is so painful, I can hardly walk. My appetite isn't brilliant and feel sick after. My treatments normally done by an older lady, but because she was fully booked, I had it done by a younger lady. It was the same room I normally go in, and the same machine. Usually the older lady mixes herbs up to clean my Bowles first, which work great, this time, the young girl did it gradually between my treatment. I could be allergic to some herbs, but unknown to me, as I've never felt this bad in my life. My bowels have been working great, and I'm a vegetarian and allergic to gluten, wheat, soya and dairy, so I don't have any of these in my diet. Has anybody else had the same pains and symptoms, as I'm scared to go to the hospital. If it gets worser, I'll have to go, but trying home remedies first. Thank you, Kirsti.
If you are experiencing pain you must seek medical advice - call NHS24 (or whatever it may be in your area) or go to your nearest A&E. Better to be safe than sorry.
Sound advice from Jabba . Do get advice. It could be you actually do have appendicitis.
Hi, I would never bother with dialling NHS anymore. Just go to A & E direct and explain.
Agree with the above.
I'd only get a colonic done by a colorectal surgeon.
The problem with ignoring NHS direct is that it means people who don't need A and E end up there....and if the NHS is to survive we as patients need to make sure we are using the resources and services appropriately. In this case while there is a case to be made for heading to a GP based walk in service, heading direct to A and E is not unreasonable given that there could be a potential serious cause for the pain.....
Too many people abuse A & E and it does annoy me. However my experiences of NHS direct have been of utter numb skulls, reading off a script, Doctors phoning me back asking the same questions, telling me to take some paracetamol even when they were told I had previous peritonitis of the bowel and was vomiting pretty much constantly which was red. It still all ended with my husband taking me to hospital himself. Suffering far far longer than I should have done.
It would be good if the writer of this Thread Kirsti77 could come back to us on here and tell us how she is.
Take probiotic supplements – This is a perfect time to support and replenish your body with healthy friendly bacteria (“flora”.) A colonic will wash away both toxic and healthy bacteria that reside in the gut. In most people, the delicate balance of intestinal flora is very unbalanced, with the scale tipping on the side of unhealthy, highly toxic bacteria strains. The body will begin developing its bacterial ecosystem immediately after a session, so it is wise to be proactive and take probiotics and prebiotics. Taking probiotics after a session may also lessen “healing crisis” symptoms. Please consult with me at the time of your session if you need a good probiotc. I have many different brands on stock. (Consider wisely where you get your probiotics. These supplements are very fragile, usually need refrigeration, and have extreme conscious shipping and handling needs.)
Hi Kirsti!
I can suppose that happened an inflammation/blockage of ileocecal valve, the area you described. I would recommend to try to do a gentle massage on that area (a visceral massage) while laying down on your back. After you can try to take some bicarbonate of soda with warm water on empty stomach (quarter tea spun with bic of soda to be putted in a glass, add warm water (60-70C degree) quarter of glass-will make a reaction, stir, fill in with cold water, when you will drink should be warm but not hot). Some of my clients with IBS, Crohn's disease had very good results.
If not, than strong camomile tea can calm down the intestines.

Hi, thank you all for your comments. I've been to the doctors and had several blood tests, but everything came back ok. I was advised that my clamps on my tubes might have an infection, and yet again had tests and it came back ok as well. Saying that about my tube clamping, I've had worse period pains since having them fitted, but I'm not aloud to have them removed as it would cost me £2,000, which was a shock. Surely because of my health, they can remove them. I've taken bacteria tablets from Just Tummies, which I got online, and they worked great, just my lady problems now, and the doctors just seem to fob me off.
WTH???? Tubes???? Where have they been inserted, exactly???? Do you mean that you have had your fallopian tubes sealed?
What cost £2000???
The Queens medical clamped both my Fallopian tubes, after 4 months after giving birth to my son, as there was competitions after delivery. Since having the fitted, I've had severe period pains and unwell. The doctors say that they can not be removed by the NHS, and will have to be done privately, which will cost £2,000, which I've already looked into. Colonic treatment helps every year, which normally helps reduce my stomach cramps, but this time, it's been pretty bad. I can't believe that they wont remove them. My healths more important then those stupid clamps. I'm just getting fed up of doctors fobbing me off with any old crap, as I've Hurd it all before.
