Hi Crowan
I really wonder why, every time I mention soul loss, you reply about soul-stealing, which I have told you before is very rare. Your understanding of how this would work is, of course, limited since (as you have said, yourself) you know little of shamanism.
It does not matter if it is a rare occurrence that some spirit would steal an aspect of self without us knowing that it had happened, the fact that you state that it does happen, will create fear and vulnerability in those that are open to believe such ideas!
I think the main difference in our understanding comes from the way that we perceive self, I perceive self as whole until we create inner division, where as you perceive self as a multitude of separate individual parts that can function independently of each other.
From your understanding the separate aspects of self are not required, so they are free to come and go as they please or as other more powerful beings choose to rob us of our different aspects of self for their own amusement.
To my understanding of wholeness, we are one being, made up of separate aspects that collectively function together to either make us whole, or as in the case of an inner conflict, the aspects will work against each other to create inner disharmony and disease. Either way all aspects are required to allow us to function as human beings.
The effects of removing one or more aspect of consciousness out of the matrix of consciousness, would be similar to removing one or more of the major systems of the physical body.
Does not teaching people to cross the road safely mean that they will never get run over?
Hi Chloe,
I have written lists, I have tried to prioritise but what I really want is acceptance of the way things are.
What are your thoughts on guilt? Do you succumb to guilt daily or just for the big things? Do you have any tricks to deal with it... I look forward to your replies!
Different people will have different ways of coping with these things and it will depend on their background and what they 'know' etc.
You could start learning all about living in the present moment, such as Echkart Tolle's "power of now" book, or by going to Advaita Vedanta classes (the ones I attended were called Practical Philosophy run by the Midland School of Philosophy (a satellite school of the School of Economic Science)) or even something like Paul's Gaia Now teachings (quite fancy trying those myself from what I've heard).
Of course things like that can also take time, though sometimes it's good to have some time away from the house and family and get involved with others and share ideas and thoughts. That can be a help in itself. 🙂
One little book that I found very helpful, and it didn't take long to read, but was so very concise in the principles it was teaching, was:

Hope those ideas are helpful.

Hi Crowan
Does not teaching people to cross the road safely mean that they will never get run over?
No, teaching people how to cross the road safely, does not mean that they will not choose to cross a road without first thinking of their actions and get run over.
But what if we also teach people that as well as the physical vehicles that they can perceive with their normal senses upon the roads, there are also invisible and silent ones upon the roads that they cannot perceive with their normal senses, that can also choose to wait for an unwitting person who has not learnt to perceive them, so that they can run them over, though it does not happen that way very often.
What do you think that information would do to the people who believed it?
Hi EnergyIz
I have read The Power of Now and another one of his too.. yes I did and do find them helpful - although it took me 8 years to be able to get to grips with the concept .
And oh yes, the appeal to get out and away from the family sometimes is overwhelming in itself! Unfortunately the husband is a chef which means we never know his shift patterns and so when there is an opportunity to have him at home, I invariably work or just enjoy his company! However, if I can get enough people to do a reiki share in a few weeks time, then that will be a golden opportunity :D.

(BTW, I tried to email you via your contact form on your website.. to no avail..)

That depends on whether the invisible and silent ones exist or not.

Hi Chloe,
My apologies. I have now replied via email.

Hi Crowan
That depends on whether the invisible and silent ones exist or not.
As you know I do not deal with spirituality, I deal with consciousness, so it might well be true from a spiritual point of view, that it will depend on if something is real or not.
However from a consciousness point of view, it does not matter if something is actually real or not, whatever is perceived to be real will have exactly the same effect upon our general state of health and wellbeing.
A perceived threat within consciousness is a threat irrespective of its authenticity.
You know, this is getting nowhere. And it has totally hijacked Delighted’s thread. I’m sure that she is capable of deciding for herself whether or not the idea of soul retrieval is useful to her, without us drifting further and further away from the topic. So I’m leaving this now.
Hi Crowan
That is fine, you did ask me a question, which I was happy to answer and elaborate upon. 🙂
Very interesting discussion.. I find that I tend to do the same when I'm tired, when I havent slept well and havent exercised. Maybe those have something to do with it then..
Or maybe guilty JOY?
Hi there! This is such a juicy topic. When I notice a constant (and sometimes monopolising) emotion coming up I ask myself a number of questions to get the core of the issue. This can take some practice because it is hard to use the same brain to solve a problem that it created in the first place!
Here's the questions I use.
- What am I trying to avoid by staying focused on this?
- How am I keeping myself small, distracted and safe by using this to fixate on?
- If I just 'let this go' (Faster EFT lingo) what would come up in it's place?
- What would I say to a loving and compassionate friend who had this problem?
Using 'Afformations' (Noah St John) you could also ask yourself
'Why am I so incredibly organised?' OR 'Why am I such a brilliant time manager?'
As a Mum I also often ask myself is what I am worried about going to matter to my children and myself in 2 weeks time? If so it's important and I get into action, if not 'let it go'.
Love your honesty!
