My working spiritually includes grieving for those that need grief. It really doesn't need 2 question marks! You are free to "open up your heart" however you wish.
"Opening the heart" does not necessarily suggest "forgiveness" and "forgiveness" does not necessarily mean "achieving closure" (whatever "achieving closure" might mean to you). Not everyone uses words in the same way, nor does everyone think in the same way.

I used the word 'suggests' - of course there are no absolutes about this and there are many ways to approach this situation.

I use the word 'suggests' as well.

I'm finding increasingly - and not just on HP - that there is no discussion any more. (Was there ever? Did I just not notice?) There's simply the re-stating of original position, over and over. It's not interesting.

By 'original position' do you mean becoming accustomed to member's opinions and beliefs? If so, then that is somewhat to
be expected as you get to know the members (I trust you include yourself in this!)

Perhaps an unchartered topic will yield some info on members that you didn't already know. Granted this topic here provided
such an opportunity. I found it baffling and hard to understand though.

Sorry (repeating my reply since it got 'swallowed up' - not shown without clicking to expand)

the external world is limited in that it has to be defined objectively by the conscious mind. external causes of grief (or of happiness, for that matter), are subject to the limitations of conscious perception. (ie. human laws)

the inner self is limitless, and therefore all causes, effects, grief, happiness spring forth when you look inside for the answers. looking inside opens up possiblilities for solutions that just don't exist in external perception.

looking within is best, and leads to a more abundant relationship with yourself and the world.

I am optimistic about human nature and the dye is not yet fully cast politically; talks and plans still continue re. acting on climate change.

Well - Amy, I'm glad you are talking about climate change and, Sally, I'm a bit alarmed that you (since you have a scientific background) still think there is argument about it.

But, that wasn't the point of the article. Did anyone actually read it?

You misunderstand. I have no doubt that human activity is affecting our climate. I agree with Amy ....we are speeding up the rate of chnage

Me too.....and I strongly feel effective action needs co-operation.....which has been a large influence in how I cast my vote today.....

Global warming is something that happens naturally. The earth has always gone through cycles of hot and cold weather. Thats part of the argument about whether human induced climate change is real or not. Interestingly it is generally accepted that we are heading for an ice age eventually........ however 'Climate change' is possibly a better description because if I have understood correctly the change in temperature will have different effects in different areas depending on air flows like the jet stream. So while the arctic may be hotter we in the UK may actually be colder.

Well - the above is what you said, so misunderstanding likely?
'global warming' is exactly what is happening - the mean global surface temperature is increasing.

Me too.....and I strongly feel effective action needs co-operation.....which has been a large influence in how I cast my vote today.....

Yes, we need cooperation. But we also need to accept that this is not something that will happen - it IS happening. NOW. We need (with cooperation) to be looking at ways of surviving.
