Terry Pratchett died today. I hope and trust that Death came for him personally.
Sad news. Though maybe for a man with such a creative mind, freed of his debilitating illness, perhaps it was a blessed relief ...
He had certainly said that he didn't want to linger.
In an interview with the Mail on Sunday in 2009 he was sanguine about his prospects.
"I intend, before the endgame looms, to die sitting in a chair in my own garden with a glass of brandy in my hand and Thomas Tallis on the iPod, the latter because Thomas's music could lift even an atheist a little bit closer to Heaven.
"Oh, and since this is England, I had better add, 'If wet, in the library.' "
Very sad news .But I agree for him the best possible outcome. I am glad he did nat have to resort to suicide though. I have very mixed feelings on the issue of assisted dying.
