This is just a general question really.....

If you don't smoke, don't drink much, have a pretty good diet, sleep reasonably well (with a few hiccups), have bouts of stress but nothing too major, have a healthy vitamin d level, no specific health conditions ...why would you get infection after infection? Any ideas?

Regardless of how healthy we are, virus' mutate and change all the time, so if we pick up a virus that our body hasn't encountered before, our immune system has to effectively decode the virus to figure out how to fight it. For some, it may figure this out quite quickly and rid us of the virus without us even knowing we had it, for others it may be more of a fight and this will give us symptoms. How healthy we are can help our immune system to stay strong and to carry out it's fight, but it cannot eradicate the possibility of us picking up new virus'.

Yes, our general state of health and wellbeing is a direct reflection of our underlying state of consciousness. 🙂

Food for thought, have you never contemplated:
Why some people who work out, only eat what is prescribed as the right types of food in the prescribed quantities, take their vitamins and minerals regularly and abstain from anything that is prescribed as being potentially unhealthy, drop dead whilst they are still relatively young for no discernible cause.

Or why other people who smoke, drink, and eat anything that they fancy irrespective of its health properties and do whatever makes them happy, live to a ripe old age with hardly any illnesses during their life experience.
Oh yes, certainly have contemplated that one.

So, if you are unhappy you are more likely to get ill?

I agree with this.
Also - and I know you've heard this from me before - a soul retrieval can often help with both the illness and the unhappiness.

I agree with Paul, but I also think it depends a lot on the balance of your gut bacteria and how well they are functioning. It is thought about 80% of your immune function is in your gut and a lot of that is governed by how the bacteria are able to function - there are 10 times more bacteria there than cells in our bodies so we are a symbiotic organism .

Not only are Acidophilus and Bifidobacteria vital but so are Saccharomyces boulardii - sorry about the awful names the scientists have given them! - among about 1,500 others. So taking probiotics may make a difference.

The other things I feel need keeping topped up are vitamin C and zinc. 1000-3000mg of vitamin C and 15-25mg of zinc daily can support immune function. if you are going to take them long term then you'll need 1mg copper for every 10mg of zinc to avoid them becoming unbalanced.

If my immune system is struggling then I add in either Cat's Claw extract or Sambucol from elderberries for a month or two for a boost. Elderberries are just about coming into full fruit round here so I shall be out along the hedgerows to collect enough to make elderberry and apple jam (lots of apples too this year) and elderberry cordial - great stuff both of them!

It's trusting someone though isn't it? I am not averse to the idea but how on earth do you know really that someone is genuine....

Ah, probiotics yes, thanks. I am a bit cavalier about taking things like this but I do have some acidophilus so will get back into the habit. Have just had antibiotics for a kidney infection so all the healthy bugs are probably dead!

You know from your own experience that you can trust Jonathan Horwitz. Why not ask him who he would recommend in London?

I agree totally with Caroline about helping the immune system from within - and would also add manual lymph drainage, to improve the functioning of the lymphatics, by stimulating them from without!!!!

There's lots of confusion about what a good diet really is, could you roughly describe what do you actually eat ?

Do you travel a lot ? New country, new viruses. I remember having just arrived in UK, a few weeks later I caught something and fell terribly ill. As in screaming headache, rolling around in bed from the pain, even though I'm like super healthy. I don't even catch a cold more than once every few years if that.

Soil is mineral-depleted these days. Most plants don't have the same nutrition they had a few decades ago.
Google 'soil mineral depletion'. You'll find tables showing like 70% less minerals in veg.

There's a substance called Humic Acid. Apparently it has like 60+ micronutrients in it, plus it has anti-viral properties. It's mostly advertised as a plant fertiliser but there are sterile versions of it for human consumption.

You can find more info on this page. They don't sell anything but you can read up on it.

There's an interview with Dr. Laub on the left, and there are reports about people healing from various conditions..
I'm not sure about their validity but yeah.. make your own judgement.

oh, and.. this won't sound very scientific, but I do practice various stuff from time to time. Meditation, various energy practices, was doing Qigong at one point..

I used to have a very sceptical (even cynical) view on these things.. but when you see hardcore smokers living to 86 etc., you do wonder.

.. maybe when it comes to the vague 'energy' stuff, we are just like medieval people yet to discover radio waves.

Diet is pretty standard stuff - fruit and veg. chicken fish etc. etc. It's a lot healthier than it used to be, I've made a real effort since being ill so often. Haven't travelled much for ages. I am leaning towards the 'being unhappy makes you ill' theory and am being pulled back towards Shamanism as a help..... On a practical level I'm taking some good probiotics and keeping the diet healthy.

I like what you say about us being like medieval people when it comes to energy stuff - I have often thought the same. I sometimes think we can only perceive what we are tuned to - like a radio - there could be a whole range out there that we can't even pick up.

Hi if this 'soul retrieval' has been discussed on the forums already, could someone point me in the right direction please...Ta

mouse16, are you particularly unhappy now? all the time? or just now and again??
