Why is it when you reply to a post, you receive a link to your email box, but when you want a pm, they dont come.
Strange that. I have enabled mail to let me know if I have a PM - has worked every time so far. Have you enabled this in your settings? Maybe a mod can help out?

Thank you Graham for pointing out this link for spiritualhappiness who needs to go to 'edit options' in the user control panel which is to be found at the top left of the page.
Unfortunately mods are not able to edit these options for members (only admin can do this) and so the information has been posted as a sticky, for members to take note of and action themselves.
Spiritualhappiness, you will see this in the user control panel:-
The forum can send a message to your email address to inform you when someone sends you a private message.
Box here Receive Email Notification of New Private Messages
If you are browsing the forums when you receive a new private message, the system can pop-up a notification box informing you of the new message.

(Tick boxes to enable them).

spiritualhappiness' notifications seem to be in order now, but for others who may be following the above instructions, may I just add that after ticking the relevant boxes, you must go to the bottom of that page and click on Save Changes to do just that! 😉 🙂
