By the way do you suggest any good books on switchwords? Sounds really interesting
Thanks

Found various online resources of which this and its included links seems quite good.

Thanks for that
Its not a very friendly building
When I moved in- I said hello to the woman upstairs and she totally blanked me- didnt even say welcoe to the building as I stood there with all my cases- just stared at me
The next day I was chatting to my other neighbour and she did the same- even when I tried to engage her in conversation
Meanwhile the same neighbour opposite who chatted away nicely a week later when I shut my door- having to close it firmly as it was sticking- since repaired- shouted from his flat
"Stop banging that ****ing door!) He had shouted that through his door the day I had moved in- so if I can avoid it Id rather- its a funny building with funny energy and apart from a few good eggs- the rest seem to spend their time coming back drunk. But I shall bear it all in mind- was scared to be honest- of a reaction or a confrontation.

I fully understand how you feel. In January we got new neighbours and right from the start they were a nightmare. Loud music, including live music, shouting, visitors all day and night with banging car doors and shouting all over the road. Even noisy sex. We decided to move rather than put up with it. But before we did I sent loving and positive thoughts to them. And slowly the noise got less and less. My son lives in the house now and he said they are no bother at all.

I thought that today- Its so hard though as as soon as you hear something disruptive you want it to stop- so you send out negative. Plus the note I put up is being it feels like steadfastly ignored by people as if to say- we live like this here- you dont like it - go- and I am looking for somewhere else- but its proving so hard. Any tips on affirmations or something to send out- am struggling with the horror of how people live in such an ungraceful and ungracious way not thinking of anyone other than their own needs. Please help

How about EFT to deal with your reaction to the offensive behaviour? PM m for ideas if you wish.

I dont know what to do- frequently heard shouting at each other- and others- these are not people I want to start some feud with- but how on earth do I get them to just SHUT UP! Am not sure can take much more

They are not the only ones that need to shut up. There is a mental dialogue going inside you that needs to shut up too...until that stops, the noisy neighbours are only going to get noisier
There is a whole range of stuff cooking here. I thought some of the stuff worked. But looks like it is here to teach you about you. It is obviously happening to get you aligned with You.
This situation is not outside you, it may seem as if it is. When life decides to teach you about some stuff, it is always a fortunate thing to happen. Withdraw your attention, see what happens. What you resist, persists. In resisting is the suffering. Allow it. Relax into the noise and see what happens.

Suggestion - purelightreiki, offer a house swap with jnani....

Otherwise, as I haven't read the entire thread, have you contacted Environmental Health? They can deal with noise issues, although it may take time. I get the impression that no amount of direct negotiation is going to have an effect on the neighbours. Have you thought about 'titfortat' and considered leaving your hifi on full blast (deep purple is always good for effect) and going to the pub till closing time?

I understand your frustration. I once lived in a flat in Clapham with incredibly difficult and very aggressive neighbours. In the end (after 8 months) I was the one who gave up and moved on

Thanks Jabba
I shall try the residents association again
Relax into the noise?? I think your idea of a house swap is a good one:) I defy anyone to relax into shouting, banging and scraping of furniture across floors from 6 am to 1am the next day- when you are trying to see clients, watch some tv, get some sleep...being woken up to the sound of a door slamming is not something I want to relax into- sometimes things happen for a reason- sometimes we make a dud decision- I did with this flat and have to live with the consequences- I am trying to do that- but struggling greatly. Thanks for just unbderstanding that Jabba- helps with the madness of this noise issue- which is constant.

Neighbour noise

I agree with Celtica and the other helpful suggestions.
The family next door to me made invasive noise for 11 years for at least half the time, quite often from 5.30am through to 2am the next morning. When they were out the dogs took over with separation anxiety barking. I tried all the obvious ways to get the noise reduced. It was incredibly stressful & made me more ill than I already was from a chronic progressive disease.
All that time I was doing my best to send healing, peace & calm to them, in the later years asking for angelic help & drawing abundance balloons.
Eventually the situation changed and everything improved beyond expectation. Now I can enjoy living in my house and am recovering from the disease.
With hindsight, there were reasons for me having to endure it for all that time. It's a lot easier to be philosophical about it now that it's stopped!
Envisioning what you want to happen, for the highest good, can be very powerful and empowering.
There is no getting through to drug addicts, alcoholics included. If things don't improve soon you may have to move. If so, make sure you ask to be guided to a tranquil place where you can be happy.

Bless you- thank you. I did all that and the noisy neighbours left about 2 months ago. To be replaced by the most horrendous building works for 2 months- 7 days a week- but now that has ended too. I cant say how I coped but I did. I just learned to block it and the universe kept me busy too!
The other woman upstairs and I had a lovely chat and though lovely she is one of those very noisy people. Not much I can do. Indeed it is a learning curve and I am asking already for my next place to be tranquil. I hope to get that this time 🙂 Thank you for all your support

Have you heard of Switchwords?

I have heard of someone getting good results from saying

ADJUST-QUIET-CUT SHUT....TOGETHER DIVINE ADJUST QUIET CUT SHUT..
over and over during the day and if noise starts up
.

While chanting,/speaking focus on what you want to happen...keep thoughts on peace, quiet tranquily, harmony
and how good it would feel when they SHUT UP

tigress

This really works! I had noisy neighbors overhead, and I used this and they moved out!

Welcome to the forum!

Could this have been a coincidence maybe since the words are about lack of noise/quiet, i.e. not moving out!

Thanks for the welcome - I usually don't go barging into a brand new forum without introducing myself but I recalled reading about the Switchwords last year in this very forum when we had some problematic neighbors.

After writing the words on a bit of paper and taping it to the back of a mirror left facing upwards, they moved out 12 weeks after moving in. I had also read of using mirrors to reflect negative energy back to its originator. It might have been a coincidence but I am so glad that they are gone! Perhaps they hadn't the ability to be quiet, and felt uncomfortable trying so they left? Part of it was horrible flooring, very old and creaky so that whenever they walked about it was very distracting and annoying. We also suspect drug traffic but didn't like to accuse when not sure. This is a great forum!

Hi Cali - glad you like this forum!

I guess your new (?)/newish neighbours are better soundwise?

I live in a ground floor flat with low ceilings. Above me there is the dreaded laminated floorboards which were installed WITHOUT the underlay!!! 😮 I assume it was to save money but lacked consideration. The residents that did this are no longer there and there is a lovely tenant now there. She realises I can hear every footstep, scraping sound of dragging furniture and especially when a young girl delights in running around (which I have told her about).

I have desensitised myself as much as possible and it is a blessing that she tends not to be there much. Where nothing can be done, desensitising works well i.e. is a successful way of 'toning it down' mentally and not letting it get to you.

For those that suffer from noisy neighbours e.g. loud music, I would suggest asking them to come and hear it from your place (works better than just complaining). If they know it is loud, they might decline but then that is stalemate! Of course loud music is unacceptable at certain times anyway and it can be reported.
