This is bad, people. Really bad. Unless we take our cue from indigenous peoples around the world and actually take the stance that says, "No more!", we are dead!

Suggestions about how to do that?
Its not saying we WILL have a 7 degree warming. Its saying under certain circumstances it might happen. As a scientist I know the limitations of science - and I know how often it can be wrong becasue of faulty modelling or a faulty method.
Does that mean I think we should complacently do nothing? hell no. His stance on climate change is my biggest worry about Trump. But I suspect things are changing as fast as they can at the moment.
Maybe we WILL all be dead. Maybe thats the correction nature needs to apply. But maybe the huge reduction in population that will result will apply a brake so a smaller population can carry on in a better way.

Of course. but I cannot see a way of keeping the rise to 2 degrees or less. Can you? 7 is at the top end of what scientists are saying - but if that happens, we are not going to have a small population, we are going to have no life at all left on earth. A second Venus.
So - can we avert disaster? Only if we stop NOW. And that won't happen, will it?
I think that the reaction (a common one) of, 'Well, it may not happen' is simply wishful thinking, a reluctance and fear of looking at what is happening. Because, at the moment, saying, 'it may not happen' is like falling off a cliff and halfway down saying, 'I may not land'. What else is going to happen?
We have run out of time.
