I have just heard one of the aid organisers speak on this (LBC radio). The reasons the French government has given for refusing the aid are highly suspect since they are not directly relevant to the situation. Organising aid takes months of preparation i.e. they knew about this for months. The French government only raised objections within the last 2 days. 70% of UK are seen to be sympathetic of the plight of the refugees.
To me it is clear that, this is cutting off the means to sustain life. Therefore the French government is, effectively, directly responsible for any lives lost in the Calais jungle. It will be homicide unless the situation is quickly rectified.
