BBC News - Cheltenham's Dr Corascendea Cathar makes 'dangerous' cancer claims
The report is to be shown on 'Inside Out' in my region - but will be available on iPlayer.
In a statement to the BBC, Dr Cathar said: "As a spiritual healer, I believe that cancer is connected to the soul and to the life content of a sufferer.
Well she's right there. So why the cabbage??
I cannot comment, not knowing the lady, but there are always those - who believe they know everything - who will trash her, rightly or wrongly. The establishment does not like 'miracle cures'!!

It is actually illegal to advertise cancer treatments - and interstingly she has now taken down the information about her 'miracle cure' from her website.
I straddle both camps being both a pharmacist and reiki practitioner. I know about the link between cancer and life events - but do not subscribe to the idea that all cancers have such a cause. Young children get cancer too - and they won't have had such life events.
If she has real evidence that her treatment works - she needs to publsh it. the fact that she has taken the information down speaks volumes.
Her behaviour is at least unethical in my opinion - and I am more open to the idea that modern medicine doesn't have all the answers than most.

Unless one believes in past lives perhaps?

Agreed.
It's funny that 'Spiritual Healer' is headlined and yet there's no mention of any spiritual healing taken place (unless I have missed it) .. that has attributed to the nature of the cancer claim/s .
Its such a touchy subject when it comes to 'non conventional medicine's / methods ' having positive effects / results on individuals whether it is in regards to cancer or to sinus troubles ..
The world has gone a little mad in all honesty I mean many vitamins and minerals, herbs have been around and used in some shape or form for thousands of years .. If these natural materials / products don't work so to speak then individuals would of pushed them to the side centuries ago .. and yet they remain in use for millions and billions of people ..
New legislation may dictate that no such claims of health benefits may be labelled in such a way on these products ... but let me put it passed those in charge of such legislations and let them point out to me an individual that has spent a lifetime on natural products and an individual that hasn't and then we can discuss why one is more healthy ..:D
In regards to claiming that spiritual healing or any alternative therapy / practice can or cannot help peoples ailments then the proof is in the pudding .. but one has to wonder the real reason behind the ever mounting red tape applied to healing modalities that are not strictly conventional are having such bad press ..
x dazzle x

It's not a mystery - the bodyguards of the medical and pharmaceutical profession will make sure you will never get the natural assistance and treatment that could help or even cure you; they don't really want you to be healthy or cured with some organic herbs, foods or supplements for a few hundred pounds as it compromises their profits.
Reading Tashanie and Giles posts prompted me to make a reply on this thread about children creating cancer through life events.
To my understanding, it is not the events which create cancer, they are after all neutral aspects of their life experience, but it is the way that people choose to internalise their responses to their life experience which causes the inner conflicts which create disharmony in place of wholeness.
As for how children create cancer, they do not require past lives to create inner disharmony, they reflect the people who bring them up until they are old enough to start choosing for themselves and creating their own core beliefs, observe a baby's or young child's reaction when one of its parents gets upset, they do not need to be in the same place, they are connected to each other, all is one.
As for cancer, it is not a disease that we can catch from someone else, it is an imbalance that we create within our bodies. As I perceive that our general state of health and wellbeing is a direct reflection of our underlying sate of consciousness, then since our bodies are very capable of creating an imbalance in response to the environment that we create for them to exists within, then they are also very capable of rectifying the imbalances that are created, if we change the environment that we generate for our bodies to exists within.
But then we need to change our focus from attacking the symptoms that are manifesting within our bodies and start to look at the environment that we have chosen to create for ourselves, through our chosen core way of being.
Well, I read the article - but it's never easy to know what the 'real truth' of the matter is.
She sounds a bit flaky - but that could be what the writer/producer wants us to think. What are their motives? What is the history of this little piece?
However, in my opinion, it isn't just illegal (I dont care much about that) to declare a cancer cure but also unwise. If you really believe in what you are offering and want to continue to work with impunity in a world that is as heavy handed towards complementary and alternatives as this one is, it is very important to promote yourself in such a way as to stay beneath the radar.

Cabbage is an old folk remedy for cancer. The Romans used it. Though they didn't have the wherewithal to diagnose internal tumours, they used it externally as a salve.
That being said all the cruciforms have anti-cancer activity.
I notice they were most careful not to mention the name of the diet. I suspect it was ether the BUDWIG DIET (cottage cheese/flaxseed oil) or the PLANT DIET (Plant as in Jane Plant)
Both of which have a history of claimed successes under their belt.
With allopathy it's a case of our way or nothing. Cancer sufferers aren't given the option of alternative therapies, not even after they've been given a 'terminal' diagnosis.
So it's understandable that they seek out possible alternative treatments - AND WHY SHOULDN'T THEY?!
So I have no problem with alternative diets and the like. But someone comes to you distressed and scared out of their face with a 'terminal' diagnosis, you have knowledge that may help them...Surely common humanity is going to say 'take this with my good wishes and may God go with you', not £££. That bit I am disappointed in.

The one clip I have seen (I've not watched the programme yet) shows her asking her guides for nutritional advice . She is clearly spiritual - and she is claiming to be a healer. But that is a world away from being a spiritual healer I agree.. I am spiritual, I offer reiki healing - but I don't see myself as a 'spiritual healer'

Hmmmm I am undecided on the whole issue of past lives. I have no dircet experience of past life regression . However lets assume we DO have past lives (altough at some point the life must be the first life........) it still seems a cruel and unusal punishment to deprive parents of a much loved and wanted baby becasue of something the baby did in a past life. And I have seen babies die of sever liver disease. Agreed its not canacer but many years ago an astute member of the chaplaincy team on the liver unit realised about 50% of women diagnosed with Primary Biliary Cirrhosis (a disease with no known cause) had experinced major life trauma in the two or three years prior to daignosis. So I know the lfie events/serious disease link exteds to other diseases apart from cancer
So I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this one.

It is illegal in the UK to advertise a cure for cancer. I will get the legal reference for you if I can find it.

No need to disagree... I don't necessarily agree with past live theories myself... I was just putting it forward as a possibility in relation to you questioning how a child could have cancer.

I would dispute that. i am allopath who can embrace complementary medicine . And its the charges made for therapies that are the reason the vulnerable need to be protected from charlatans whos only goal IS to get money.
THATS why regulation of complementary medicines like reiki, homeopathy, etc is SO important becasue it ensures there is a code of ethics that will prvent the vulnerable from being exploited.
Another inside out team did an expose on a pharmacist/homeopath who promoted homepathic 'pertussin; instead of whooping cough vaccine. That has casues a HUGE furore on the pharmacy forum I use. And I have been DEFENDING ethical practitoners. But what this pharmacist did is unethical by the code of ethics of BOTH bodies since I assume the homepathy body has the same code fo coduct as reiki and hypnotherpy whihc makes it plain you do NOT tell patients NOT to use conventional treatment.

I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer 3 years after the most horrendous year with 2 major bereavements and more stress than I had ever had in my life. However thanks to the life laundry and spiritual recconection I had done the year before all hell broke loose- I coped extrmeley well did not interanlise, used all the life style techniques etc I had at my command .........and I STILL got cancer. I have to admit my thought on having the diagnosis confrimed was 'Wow I went through all that three years ago and the worst that happens is I get acancer that can be dealt with so easily'
I have no dount my positive apporach helped mitigate the results I got - but it is simplistic in the extreme to say that cancer could be eradictaed by simple lfietsyle changes. Cancer is a disease (mainly) of old age. the longer the cells divide - the more likley you are to get a mutation that may lead to cancer.
In any case YOUR approaoch puts the blame for the cancer on the individual. And the last thing you need is to be blaimg yourself for your problems and to feel its all your own fault (apart from things lwhere lifestyle has a direct link like lung cancer)
