Did I hallucinate or among other news on the blue SKYNEWS screen this morning there was this written:
(my rewording trying to remember)
"Astronomers have discovered a supernova that may explode and wipe out our planet earth".
Whaaaat?
😮
(am going to google this but reluctantly, Id rather pretend I didnt read this piece of news)
So it could strip away the Earth's ozone layer..... but then again it might not.
I really hate these doom mongering stories.
The vice-president of the blah blah astronomy society reckons it could be a long way off "so don't have nightmares."
Bit late now....
sorry for getting all panicky, this kind of news always hits the right spot with me.
:eeeK:
I'm the same. Don't get me started about 2012........
I mean I was having my cereals and reading the news headlines, and sandwitched between "man who tried to blow off plane charged with mass murder " and ""airports at standstill because of snow" there was this: "earth may be wiped off by supernova". I made a grunting Homer-style noise "whot?". Then I paid careful attention to the presenters (news, weather and sports) and I swear, they did look gloomy lile they knew!
:026:
It makes it hard to be relentlessly positive doesn't it?
well yes, I spent my morning trying to forget about that piece of news. A part of me was saying "well whats the point to anything? might as well spend all the money and etc etc" while the other part was saying "well one more good reason to live a meaningful and happy life and be adventurous and not worrying!".
If it had to happen, I 'd rather we werent told anything. Why being scared if we cant change anything? also people would go mad....Id rather not be told anything and go along my normal life.
Actually if it had to happen, (and if it s after I finally can move somewhere with a garden) Id go to the dog and cat rescue centres and adopt pretty much everybody!
The report said that the Earth's ozone layer could be stripped away. All that means is that we'd have to wear SPF 30 suncream on a permanent basis (assuming one went outside with any regularity). Well, I'd have to wear SPF 50 on top of my head, but that's another story. Stop worrying. 😉
The morning they switched on the Hadron Collider last year me and half the mums at school were worrying ourself silly that the world would end that morning, it actually did about as much damage as the milleneum bug did:D (remember how we worried about that!!!!!)
