I don't know how the people that stood there laughing can live with themselves, they should be thoroughly ashamed.

:(:(:( very, very sad!

"However, those who stood by and did nothing to stop Anderson are also guilty in our eyes. "

Abso-bloody-lutely!!! 😡 they should be ashamed of themselves 😡

I'm so pleased though that this disgusting piece of work didn't get away with just a slapped wrist as seems to be the norm nowadays.

This is appalling. Why couldn't this moron have called an ambulence and comforted this poor soul in her last moments instead of indulging in this disgraceful and inhuman behaviour?

There seem to be so many who refuse to act in a civilised way towards their fellow humans.

I am still in shock after reading this item.

I believe strongly that what goes around comes around. Maybe not today or tomorrow but it will some day. And I don't mean through the justice systems.
Sub-consciously he will be looking over his shoulder because what you 'give' is what you 'get'!!

Ditto to that.

Can't think of a word to describe that kind of scum and those who observed.

Obviously we're all agreed that this man's action, and the bystanders' inaction, was wicked and despicable, but the important questions are-

WHY has this country so degenerated, that such behaviour can now happen?

WHAT can be done to regenerate this country?

There have always been, and will always be, a minority of low-grade people who will do such things if they can get away with it. The difference nowadays is that they think they CAN get away with it, whereas in former times they would not have. Some kind of rot set into this country, maybe as far back as the 1950s, and it has got steadily worse ever since.

This national decline has many symptoms, including, for instance, the fact that we now have to have 600,000 East Europeans here to do the kinds of work for which all too many English people are too lazy, feckless, unskilled and illiterate.

If you look at history, you will see that nations are like people. They are born and they die, and before they die they go through a long or short period of sickness and decline. However it may be that, unlike an individual, a nation can revive itself. China, for instance, was on its last legs a hundred years ago, held in contempt by the world. Yet China, for all its faults, is now probably the second strongest country in the world, and will overtake America before long.

Just a quick off-topic comment. Have you actually tried to replace them? I spent one day on a production-line (intending for it to continue) where Polish were in the majority. I simply couldn't carry on as it was so hellish and Victorian that I had painful RSI after one day. To my shock, an 18-year-old English youth also had to leave on that day due to production-line RSI, which was worked at a hellish and ridiculous pace.

I was far, far from 'lazy', it took no 'skill', but ... yes, I was 'illiterate', as nobody could understand my language.

They didn't speak English.

Back to the actual thread subject, I echo all that's been written. I don't think we can avoid the fact that our UK society has become something utterly alien to most of us. It's also IMHO not due mostly to immigration, but is something happening within the Caucasian (white) population.

Newspapers are full of doomsday articles, and it is indeed right to be told that these degenerative things are happening. But many of us know it - we see it around us.

Personally, I do believe and have faith that there are answers, and that society can be turned back around. This can be through a combination of truly political (I mean not self-serving, but people-serving) initiatives, spiritual people becoming more socially active ... well, and on and on. A big subject, and the problem is huge and is there, but I do believe it can be tackled and changed around.

I completely agree with you there Venetian.... what I think is quite disappointing is that the press actively searches out stories like this which only makes matters worse. Nice things happen in life too but that, of course, wouldn't sell newspapers. I don't see this as an immigration problem and, to be honest, I don't think this country is any worse than some others, however, that doesn't distract from the point that there really does appear to me to be quite a polarity in behaviour right now.....

IMO – I believe the ‘Press’ are just symptomatic of our society. The Press reported to us that this individual acted in the way that he did towards a vulnerable lady. I think it is important that we are aware of how some people, organizations etc act towards us.

Because of the Media we are aware as a society about the kind of vial behaviour that goes on in the world towards the vulnerable. It is up to us what we do with this information. We may not be able to personally take on the world and affect change but as a society we certainly can. It is our choice if we just choose to read horror stories, be shocked and then continue in our lives the next day as if it didn’t happen.

We may not wish to march the streets in protest to such dreadful actions but at least, I would hope, we teach our young people the disgusting nature of such things and how individuals like the one discussed in this thread will be punished for the rest of his life until he repents and makes amends with the world.

I know there is far more good in the world than bad. Maybe society has lost its way but the revolution for peace is coming.

Love to all:grouphug:
