I don't know or claim to know the true story behind MH17. I'm writing over a week since it took place, and it's looking as though there will never be truth or a consensus on what happened. And tough luck for Malaysia Airlines to suffer another loss within just months. Not to mention the passengers.

For the first 48 hours it started to seem cut and dried what happened. In the UK and USA, newspapers all like a trained choir blasted the story-line at us; "Putin's missile in rebel hands shot down MH17". But if you stepped back and started to look at alternative media, these reports, repeated by all our politicians, were unproven hysteria. At the end of the day this "evidence" was just based upon a few social media posts!! What kind of evidence is that for such a major event? Then ... one of the videos turned out to be date-stamped, if you read the code, as having been made the day BEFORE the event. "False flag" attacks are common in recent history and a particular domain of the secret services of the USA. So let's look a little bit deeper. Now, this may not be the whole story, and may not be the truly accurate story, but it deserves to be read by anyone. It's just one example of the alternative news coming out now (but NEVER reported in the mainstream) about this tragedy. Clearly the event is not cut and dried at all...

Hmm interesting. I listen to the radio a lot (i.e. for news, feedback and phone ins from the public). I recall the news mentioned that it was shot down by mistake, i.e. it was thought to have been carrying ammunition. I only heard this mentioned once. It seems that radio news often airs whilst the info is initially circulating and hence may be missed by those that seek to censor and ameliorate what is truly occurring.

I don't think they meant to shoot it down....I think it was a tragic mistake and Putin is behaving as he would have done in cold war d ays and covering up actions by people he undoubtedly views as being under Russian protection. The simplest answer is normally the correct one. I see only a tragedy of gigantic proportions, and no conspiracy

I am not so sure they didn't mean to shoot it down (as mentioned, in my previous post, it was once reported that they thought the plane was carrying ammunition, i.e. not a passenger plane). Also, it was reported that the plane was flying suitably high - as per the requested safe zone levels.

In the early days of a news story a lot of what is said is speculation. Thats why something may be aid once and not repeated as new probably more reliable information becomes available. The trouble is twitter and facebook can propagate a lot of speculation as fact....and it spreads round the world in a flash .

Oh I see...except that it was said as a matter of fact, i.e. not speculation that the plane was shot down in error (thinking that it was an ammunition plane and not a passenger plane). So, that leaves me wondering if that was the truth but then the powers that be realised what was being broadcast and censored it. It also makes more sense that the plane was shot down in error doesn't it?

If it WAS thought it was carrying ammunition........why would the powers on THIS side see the need to censor that? I cannot see why that is harmful. It makes some small sense of an otherwise apparently pointless act........ The other sides ammunition and transport is a legitimate target in a war situation

Hi
I think the people that shot it down had enough training to operate the missile system but not enough training to recognise it was a civilian plane.
Every aircraft gives off a transponder signal. Be it commercial or military maybe it was not recognised as civilian

That sounds accurate to me, i.e. highly likely.
