Hi there,
Money & time being limited this summer, we have decided to try to go away for 1 week in November instead.
I love the sun & heat, but I foresee having to stay in the UK rather than going abroad.
So taking into account that it is likely to be cold and wet in November, would anyone have any suggestions for a cheap/affordable break in the UK, preferably within driving distance from Bristol?
Thanks!
Instantly Norfolk came to my mind, a longish drive but worth it for a week.
Lots of wonderful remote coast line for bracing autumnal walks and an afternoon of seal spotting and the lovely city of norwich (where i live so am completely biased!) if it rains and you need a theatre or museum or cathedral to keep you dry. Not to mention cosy pubs. Plenty of little sea side towns to explore, no crowds perhaps rent a little cottage or splash out on a boutique b and b for a night.
Alternatively rent a tipi at brancaster ..if you google that the correct website should appear, can't rememebr the name at the mo.
Hope thats inspired you!

Salcombe, south Devon - lovely, even in November!
If you have kids to entertain, Centre Parcs often have good deals Pre-christmas. It's expensive if you want to eat out in the resort, but if you are happy to self cater, the pool complex etc is free, lots of nice walks etc. We had a great two weeks there one November when we were hard up, and dd was 3.
I'd go along with the recommendation from Sunbeam for Norfolk I used to go there every December for a week on the north Norfolk coast, renting a house for the week and loved it. I especially remember the bootiful Norfolk skies at that time of the year they are a site to behold as well as the wildlife - skeins of geese flying to and from the land to the sandbanks, plus many other winter visitors.
However, if the weather is cold it can be very cold there - we used to joke about there being nothing between it and the North Pole.
