I forgot to mention.. thats where we got engaged too!
On the top of the boat while we were cruising along to the next location, the sun was setting, the sky was beautiful behind mountains on the horizon. I asked the question.. he looked v. surprised and said it should be him asking the question... i said i thought he would never get round to it... he said he was actually thinking of asking me.. i said go on then.. and he did!

V - I'll be looking for some holiday reading for in between temple visits so will look for the Paul Brunton book and The Orion Mystery. Liz (my pal) and I had already thought that we might be templed out and give Abu Simbel a miss, but we'll see when we're there.
Treak - I'd love to see your pix. This is very much a dip your toe in the water trip - just a taster really.
Fluffy - how romantic it sounds, to get engaged on board the ship. I was wondering whether I'd pick up on any vibes in the temples. I know a little about the ancient Egyptians and am very open to learning more. Apparently there's an Egyptologist on board who leads the excursions - should be interesting.
One thing I'm concerned about is how smart everyone will be at dinner. Basically I don't have any dressy up clothes so they'll have to take me as I come. (Mind you it's been so long since I looked at my summer clothes I might be surprised at what I do have!)
