I'm going on honeymoon to Morroco and I was looking for some tried and tested tourist tips :nature-smiley-008:
We are staying in Agadir and taking an excursion to Marrakech and I'm just open to recommendation on anything and everything to be honest.
Thanks xx
one thing that was useful in Morrocco was the word Safi (pron. saffee)..it seemed to make the hustlers and hasslers go away
tigress
Let your bank know that you'll be visiting Morocco otherwise your credit cards may be declined as a safety measure.
Also another phrase that works a treat is;
Bass Bass halass yella impshi - Which means - enough enough finished go now!!
shookran - Thank you.
Salaam alekoom - formal Muslim greeting
Insharla - god willing
With regards to clothing - be respectful. Cover your shoulders, no cleavage and avoid mini skirts and you should be fine. I didn't have any trouble whilst in Marrakesh and the market square comes alive in the evening. 1 small problem - I hope you're not a veggie as the diet is primarily meat tagines, which are just divine.
Have a great stay.
Cheers, Sue
Also be ready to haggle for anything you wish to buy when out and about!, its expected of you, in a fun way of course! some people can be quite persistent but as long as your firm in saying no you'll be fine, also yes, be respectful, remember its a muslim country,also take some good insect repellent with you too. The people are very hard working and have so little compared to us but they are so kind and welcoming, you,ll love it there! Just remember, it's very different to home, but in a good way. have a good one! x:D
Thanks everyone.
I'm also wondering how much spending money to take??? :confused:
We are going for two weeks. We are half board but don't intend eating in the hotel every night.
Thoughts please????
