I need to know whether by adding milk to my coffee or tea, I effect the absorption of milk by my body? I had seen papers on this subject which suggest that addition of coffee to milk prohibits the body's absorption of calcium. Does anyone have anything to back this up!?!?

I've just googled this as it is interesting. I drink a lot of tea.

Apparently oxalates in the tea bind the calcium. This site is one of several that discuss this:

Hope that is what you wanted. I will still put milk in my tea though! I just make sure I get enough calcium from other sources but now I will have to make sure I am not drinking tea at the same time!:(

Would the same apply to Rooibos tea and soya milk, I wonder?

Do you put enough milk in your coffee/tea to make it such a vital part of your calcium intake?

Depends how much coffee they drink! I work with someone who's never seen without a mug in their hand, I presume his intake of coffee related milk must be pretty high!
