RE: Mars up close!
P.S. Not dissing on any other space agencies or countries. I support them all, and hope that nations will always cooperate in space and stay unique from one another. God bless England especially in light of recent terror attacks.
And God Bless America 🙂
BTW, How many online computer games do you run??? If you are going to reply with web sites, you had better PM me as web refs within the body of the post (as against the signature) are deemed as advertising, and not allowed.

RE: Mars up close!
Hey, yeah... Dont wanna break any rules. I certainly dont need advertising when I am genuinely interested in this topic. Anyone who wants to view my websites or see my game can PM me and I will send them links to my website.

Also, how did you find out I ran a game? View my profile? Heh. I own a few actually. I own a whole company to be honest... but that's off topic.
Oh, and definently God bless America! It has been good to me 🙂
RE: Mars up close!
America's been good to us all in Great Britain, Nic. Not only do we have a shared ancestry, we also have a shared culture. All Saxon cultures follow the same patterns.
Now - these Mars pictures. I am sure that the more brainy amongst us can find a genuine picture of Mars? I have heard that NASA intends to send up another probe next year to make an even more detailed study of the red planet. That should be very exciting.
Love,
Patsy.

Nic.
thanks for that info... as it's slightly off topic (I see you've read the Rules, a rare breed indeed:)), I'll reply to you re. your web sites etc by PM.
As for the Mars missions, I see from the BBC news site that when NASA finally get the MRO launched, it will join two operational US orbiters - the Mars Global Surveyor and Mars Odyssey - and one European orbiter, Mars Express, around Mars.
Two US robotic rovers, Spirit and Opportunity, have been on the Martian surface for the past 18 months, investigating the geology of Mars.
Nasa is planning two further Mars missions this decade: the Phoenix module, set for launch in 2007, and Mars Science Laboratory in 2009.
With the announced, hopefully temporary, shut down of the Shuttle program, to have another go at solving the thermal tile problem, it does highlight the huge difference at the needed approach to sending people into space from sending just hardware. It does make sense that, however much it dismays Joe-Public, saturated with images of Star Ship Captains wizzing about the Universe, space exploration, for the forseable future must be with robots.

Patsy,
I have some superb, high res pix of Mars, but unfortunately can't upload them here and of course we have to consider bandwidth... perhaps a sweet word in the ears of the powers that be ??????????
