Hello Peeps,

I have heard that woolly mammoths may be about to put in a second debut. Frozen remains of mammoths have had their gametes injected into elephants eggs (their closest modern cousins) with a view to 'recreating' them.

What do you think?

Love,
Patsy.

RE: Mammoths

Are we talking Jurassic Park style here? Seems like an interesting if dangerous thing to do. Will it be a true mammoth if it's 'fertilized' with an elephant, or will it be a mammephant 😀

Seriously, how do these people get the approval for such a project?

Hi caveman,

It looks like it'll be some sort of chimera - part mammoth, part elephant. I hope that this project isn't pursued a la Jurassic Park. I shudder to think of the consequences, don't you? It'll be 'Pachyderm Park.' heck!

Love,
Patsy.

So I guess if it isn't going to be a 'real' mammoth then the point is to prove that this can be done rather than trying to bring it back into the world. Is it ethical?

Next they'll be bringing back cavemen [sm=eeeK.gif]
