if you remember the film highlander, the main charactor had been around a while, he told of his saddness at saying goodbye to those he loved. eventually would you want to form a relationship with anyone knowing that you were going to watch them die and this would happen in every relationship you had. soul distroying
I love the idea of being able to see what happens to civilisation, technological advancements, our planet!
On the other hand, I really couldn't be bothered with having to wait for such a long time - Much rather be cryogenically frozen for 100 years, get up and walk about for a bit, then back into my littel sleeping bag for another 'Rip Van Winkle' type sleep!! 😀

Personally, I believe we do live forever.
Just not in this form.
Being, Life, Spirit changes, morphs, re-groups, re-manifests differently - like everything else science conceptualises about this world of 'matter' & 'energy'.
Surely you are no longer you if your form has changed.
Back to the topic, it is unlikely the technology will actually emerge any time soon. The time it does arrive will lead to a splitting of society and then possibly even the human race. With those that can afford the treatments to significantly extend life, physical qualities and the underclass that cannot. The separation might be even greater if people start to download their conciseness into an electronic format.
