Hi

Interesting article about an Irish technology firm throwing down the gauntlet to see if scientists can develop a free energy theory they have...

Not being a scientist myself, I wondered about your thoughts on the matter?

RE: Free energy

Interesting. It's hard to know what to think as they don't give details? Even then it would need testing by others and reproduction.

There have been many excellent claims on creating free energy, but all these technologies have been wierd in the sense that you couldn't predict how much energy would come out each time. A bit like putting your foot on the accelerator and (1) not knowing if you'll go at 10 or 100 mph, and (2) not even knowing - no-one knowing - how it works.

I think such sources have to be partly understood and under full control before they could be commercially used. Given those two things, such discoveries, I think, would be in use even now. But they've been unpredictable.

I really couldn't get my head around this 'free energy' thing, caveman.

RE: Free energy

Hi caveman,

This is the stuff of wonderful dreams. The possibility that energy is free, or costs so little that the whole economic thrust of western society - i.e. profit - would have to rethink economics.

I hope the press follows the story
