Oooooooo I got the most beautiful snake yesterday thanks to a wonderful friend who arranged it all, I think I'm in love (with the snake..not my friend..although she is really nice:rolleyes:)..trouble is, it's not mine:(. It's my sons birthday tomorrow, he's wanted a snake for years but I've always said no, not until he acts old enough to be responsible..bla bla bla...anyway, he's was on a sleepover last night and has absolutly no idea what we've got him so when he comes home and goes up to his room he'll have an early birthday suprise...not only that, the man who sorted the tank out for us has loads of birds of prey and is part of a club that meets once a month to teach children about birds of prey and also a snake club which I'll be taking Joshie too:D:D
It's a corn snake about 3ft long, rusty brown colour with red spots..beleive it or not but some spots are heart shaped...so so so beautiful...I'm chuffed..I'm trying to tell myself NOT to buy something else for my son so I can keep the snake lol..I'll have to get some pics up soon:043:

Oh gosh Amy, I think you're really brave to get a snake. Can you see me biting my fingernails??? I once saw an adder very close-up in the countryside though - it was early one morning and it was basking in the warmth of the early morning sunshine. It was very well camouflaged and I hadn't seen it till OH pointed it out.:speechless-smiley-0 I'll try and post a piccie of this later on. It will be good to see pictures of your snake as well - sounds very pretty and I'm sure you son will love it, just like you do.
BTW what will you feed the snake? You'll have to tell us all about it.:hug:

lol....I have that reaction with spiders, although beautiful in their own way and amazing too.....I can't stand them anywhere near me:eek:...I used to always want a snake when I was young too so I'm more then happy to encorage my son...he's great with all animals lol
The snake (I can't wait till it's given a name:rolleyes:) eats mice or baby rats, you buy them frozen from a pet shop....hhhhhhhhuuuuuuuuuummmmmmm my freezer is going to look so yyyyyyyyyyuuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmy with a dead mouse next to the peas:D

No..I'll be leaving the naming to Joshie, I need to get the snake sexed too, not sure if it's a boy or girl:D....I bet ya I'm going to be a total brat and have to get my own snake now lol
