RE: chakra test and balancing
I found the chakra site a few months ago...before finding out about it at this post. This post revived my interest in it. .. might be a good idea for me to revist the questionare from occassionally as things change..and its interesting the things that do not..which is something to work on. In any case..when I found the site I did try the mantram. Definitely felt something refreshing after each time I did it...but only had a brief time withdoing the mantram due to illness getting in the way.
HOWEVER, the way I did its was not simply as advised...I did it using a different tones for each chakra. The mantram not in my regular tone voice but according the the designated tone. These are the found in the musical scale..you can use a simple paino/keyboard for example. If you are familar with their keys that makes it easier. Although its kind of tricky to coordinate if you are not familar by heart with the tones and/or the mudras. Eventually, the idea is to do the mantram, mudra, and tone...(and don't forget to breath ;). If you don't know your way around a keyboard or such...please do a net search or something for a site that can give you a visual on where the notes are. You can also use a beginners music book.
Lam = Middle C for Root
Vam = D
Ram = E
Yam = F # sharp (black key)
Ham = G# sharp (black key)
Om = A
Ng = B... (you can hold this last note longer..but that up to you).
